In the game, su-27sm and mig-29smt may be buff by mounting the r-27ea

Currently the su-27sm and mig-29smt in the game don’t have missiles with sufficient range. And I learned from reading that su-27 and mig-29 may be able to use the r-27ea.
The r-27ea seem is a fox3 using r-27e body.(But i don’t have enough pictures to prove that it works)I think if su-27sm and mig-29smt can mounting it,maybe r-27ea can save the weak su-27sm and mig-29smt.(But r-27ea may also cause the su-27sm and mig-29smt to become too OP).
So I thought maybe we could talk about the r-27ea

The R27EA would be an equivalent to the AIM-120 C-7. Its way to early to add them yet (If those Aircraft can even use them)

The body and propulsion might even be better than C-7 but the radar seeker is where I am doubtful of how well it actually works.

Knowing the developers, the AIM-120C will have the same seeker as the A which is already underperforming, and since all current ARHs have the same seeker, wouldn’t be surprised if the R-27EA somehow has the same seeker performance as the AIM-120C

The thing is I am expecting AIM120C to come with PESA if not AESA radar capable planes so the on board radar will be the limitation of AIM120A. R27EA could just be a near broken missile cause we all know what is the result of great propulsion with ARH seeker, namely Fakour90 being able to snipe people chaffing and notching from up to 30km range.

Well
Theres no evidence that Su-27SM, MiG-29SMT can use it.
Even if they can mount it

Meteor, AIM-174B, AIM-260 JATM when?

Still have only 60s battery live

If the R-27EA is just an ARH R-27ER then it would be the equivalent of the current Aim-120 that we have in the game.

The current time to impact at around 30km when launched from high altitude between the two missiles is very close right now.

WTF AIM260 isn’t even in service, AIM174B is just standard 6, and vs PL15/17 is still useless. Meteor is not a counter part of an ARH upgraded R27.

No. It hasn’t been officially used in service yet. (Nor has it been used on any of the current platforms present ingame).
R-77-1is best gaijin can give you for now.

Like R27EA should be compatible to loads of in game platforms, although the rumours started of it started in 2013 and the development time (let’s date it to 2022) is over 9 years?

R-27EA: Mach 5, 35G, ARH
JATM: Mach 5, ??G, ARH
Meteor: Mach 5, ??G, ARH

What does speed got to do in this, so does it mean that Fakour is just as good as Aim120 just because it is just as fast and has longer range? R27 by nature is an incredibly fast missile, but it does not mean ARH seeker is as good as even AIM120C-5/7 being slower.

The one downside of the R-27ER right now is that you have to guide it in, but it still will hit before the top tier ARHs. Having ARH on the R-27ER would make it probably the most busted ARH in the game in terms of medium range.

Not like the IRIAF doesn’t have a larger propulsion Phoenix and it still sits 12.3. The Fakour 90 which is just as fast as AIM120 but the seeker is the limitations. The R27EA should be same seeker as RVV-AE (R77) and R27EA will have max range of 16km lock, same as any other ARH missile, which only means it is more like AIM120C IRL but all ARH received stupid nerf so I doubt it will be an exception. All I hope is for AIM120C to enter with RVV-SD so that it’s even again, currently R77 drag is so bad and the compression is brutal for uptiers.

The Fakour 90 can’t turn, and it is on a single event vehicle. The Su-27SM and MiG-29SMT are not one-off event vehicles.

Yeah but spare the BR, against AIM120s the radar disadvantage is another part of this, so it will be very comparable to much later missiles but cassegrain, Mech, Zhuk is a bit better but hell it isn’t near MSIP.

R27EA never got into serial production and it was abandoned during development phase.

This discussion is pointless.

It should be to the same degree of that of the base model R-77
