Can someone help me improve my skills in grb, because i’m dying quickly, cannot find enemies and not getting many kills. Is it because i’m not aware of my surroundings, or what? I’m an American main, br 4.0

Yes, you should get more aware of your surroundings. 4.0 USA is pretty meh. I suggest you get a proper lineup with the 4.3 - 4.7 vehicles.
Chill out, dude. It takes ages to get good at this game. We’re talking thousands of matches and over a thousand hours. You’re still new to ground battle. Give yourself some time to learn the maps and figure out how your vehicles and your enemies’ work.

I’ve got a few tips for ya that should improve your experience!
Number one is one MOST people don’t know in my experience, which is the War Thunder Wiki, which I’ll link after I type everything out. The wiki holds valuable information, including how to play vehicles.
Map knowledge is another key factor. What is the terrain? Close quarters or snipers? Hiding spots. Go into custom battles and explore the maps. You’ll find a lot of things there!
What could the enemy be using? By knowing your enemy’s nations, you can narrow down what the enemy could be using. For example, in a match, I had the US, Germany and France against Italy, GB and the USSR. Therefore, I could narrow down what the enemy could be using. The USSR could be using T-34 and KVs, the British using Sherman Fireflys and Churchills, and Italy using shermans, Turan III, StuG, and a tiny bit more!
Look for chokepoints on the map where the enemy will be coming from. For example, on Seversk-13, the enemy has few ways to get to C, if you can lock down the streets that run alongside C, you’ve pretty much locked it down and turned it into a choke point.
