I have over 2000 hours playing this game. I spend 2 ish years grinding to get to play my nation’s current vehicles (usa). Not only is the helicopter grind way too long, the general ground grind is too long. Now after grinding for top tier I realize I chose the wrong nation balance wise. The adats is okay but cant compete with the pantsir in the slightest. In my sep v1,v2 a tank that is supposed to be armored and if it does take damage its designed to either take out mobility or the gun rarly both. But there has been so many times I have gotten killed in one shot from the front lower plate at an angle that shouldn’t do anything. And dont even get me started on the fact that when fighting tanks from any other nation you have to really hit the right spot to do anything. For any t-series its a pixel cap for the drivers port or the lower glaces which is difficult or impossible to hit or on a leo you basically only have the breach or lower plate. All of this for an abrams that has a super weak turret neck that is super easy to hit and a breach that if you get shot for some reason never just brakes the round just spalls and kills my whole turret crew. And I know you guys are going to say “ohh skill issue” and such but is that really the way to improve something. Im not wanting for the us to be over powered but just useable. I have spent way too much playing this game that is supposed to bring me joy but in the end just makes me mad and even more upset because I feel obligated to keep playing because of the money I put into it and the time I will never get back.
I can completely understand your frustrations, and I agree the grind is way to long.
However it is ok to take a break from the game and come back at a later stage. All the guys I play with take extended breaks every couple months and then come back fresh.

You have 814 hours in ground battles.
This has allowed you to complete 2 ground tech trees [Sweden and USA], while getting to rank 6 Germany, and rank 5 France and Soviets.
730 days / 814 hours is about 1 hour 7 minutes per day in battles.
ADATS and Pantsir don’t fight each other, that’s not their purpose.
Unless you mean against aircraft which both are equally useless against.
One of the reasons why tanks are “less armored” than they are IRL is because of where the gunner sight is placed in realistic battles: The barrel.
This allows players to pixel shoot as they don’t need to worry about parallax. All tanks are less armored because of this.
T-series tanks? I’ve never aimed for the driver’s port on those tanks. I hit idler wheels and turret front. ALL driver port hits I’ve done against T-series tanks were unintended hits as I was aiming for the breach or turret side.
I say this to everyone: Play what you like and don’t worry about any alleged grind.
This is what I’ve done and I’ve been playing every week for 5 years with no plans on stopping.

I actually do this and having fun all the way…lots of hours of free and interesting gameplay that would otherwise be impossible as there is no actual competition (tried WOT, didn’t like the arcadish system…and i play arcade in WT).
BUT…i truly believe the grind is preventing players from enjoying the “top part” of the game. I am playing less and i believe that easier access to different techs (MBTs, missiles, etc…) would help with motivation…and pretty sure i am not the only one.
AS AN EXAMPLE…i stopped planes a couple years back…would probably give it a try again if i could play missiles…but the grind is so long i won’t even try…)
I understand the WHY of grinding…but i feel there is lots of content being “wasted” on a less than optimal number of players…
(I suggested an alternative entry point like in naval…my issue is not the grind “per se”)
If it makes you angry step back, this is meant to be your free time/relaxation time.
Don’t waste it on a game that doesnt bring you joy.
Alternatively play some low tier games, 5.3-6.0 BR are hands down the best in game, for fun and balance. I have taken many breaks from War thunder.
This 100% would transform the game for the better. While there would be some initial push back players would enjoy the illusion of having more amour.
Imagine wasting 2000h just to be frustrated in the end.
