You have 126 battles in total with ground vehicles at 9.0 or higher BR.
You have 0 battles in total with air vehicles at 9.0 or higher BR.
So where is this claim coming from, since it surely isn’t from your personal experience.
He doesn’t even fly at BRs where there are missiles.
Sure when ULQ quits regurgitating the same statements that is just pure fallacy. Given he’s gonna respond to this I already know he’s not gonna back down.
So, in my opinion, often times the problem isn’t that AA cant counter CAS, it’s that no one is trying to until after someone gets bombed.
This is for a few reasons:
- The rewards for playing AA as AA (rather than AA as a tank destroyer, or just spawning a tank) aren’t great
- You have no way of knowing if there are even any planes up to shoot when choosing your next spawn oftentimes
3.some nations just don’t have viable options for aa at some BRs (the stormer for example is completely bugged with jets right now, and not too long before was broken in a different way on snow maps, and has never actually functioned historically)
so,
1.increase rewards so that an AA kill vs a plane is equal to a tank kill
2.notify players in some way that there is CAS inbound, this could be a radio message like the ones that inform you that you are winning or losing, it could be an icon next to players names when you look at the scoreboard showing that they are in a tank, aircraft, not spawned or disconnected instead of the spawned, not spawned, disconnected icons we have now
3. continue to flesh out (and fix) the AA options for each nation
From the other side of things, There is basically no decent gameplay for most attackers or bombers in ARB. In ARB many of them are boring at best and pinatas at worst, and regardless of how you personally might score, mostly useless to your team unless you can play as a fighter. Maybe if there was more variety in ARB game modes GRB wouldn’t be the only place that half of every air tech tree (that you have to unlock anyway to progress) and the entire heli tech tree is useful.
As always, someone making statments about something he clearly is not experienced with.

Some SPAA even perform on higher BR really good because you can bring for example of Russia or Germany (Wirbelwind, Ostwind I + Ostwind II) three SPAA to a battle.

Simple solution. Expect after 3min into the battle planes. It is better to be prepared.

You have a team and they should do something too. There is a radio message that every player can send if planes are inbound. They just don’t use it often. I often add the number of planes after the message if more then one shows up.
I just want to mention that I stay away from hightier so my experience with SPAA there is near 0. I know that there are other problems and they need to be adressed.
Playing as uk at 4-6 BR capping in a fast vehicle then getting a plane is preferable to using the poor array of tanks avalible in many cases. Possibly why the Wytern is so popular
CAS isn’t necessarily broken everywhere, usually the issue is that people spawn in SPAA and just don’t leave spawn. If you think about it, most of the CAS strafes are gonna be happening pretty much dead-centre in the map.
The best example I can think of off the top of my head is the Gepard. That thing is great, it melts anything that flies. When I got the AH-1G for the first time, it became extremely obvious that if a Gepard had positioned themselves near their allies, I would pretty much immediately taken down.
My best bet would be to make CAS more expensive to spawn, because its quite annoying when you’ve been dumpstered by a guy in a jet who only got two assists and then died. It would also make scouting for long periods of time much more worth it.
Problem occurs when you have nowhere to go, or even if you do, it’s still fairly close to spawn.
SPAAs are good against rushing helicopters, who would’ve thought.
So how You can counter air without using air Yourself? Please, spare me the SPAA talk, or show how effective You are with it (not only spaa with he-vt/missles but also low tier too).
Spawn in a plane, and shoot them all down
Oh yes, easy to counter becasue You can die to it and then do something about it… right.
Reduce the respawn point of fighters if only take aams, 480 is the maximum I guess, and the second time should be lower than 700, I don’t know why so many people complain that they wanna use SPAA to get a revenge kill immediately, they can respawn many times just for one kill, and never consider using a fighter.
I would give pilots full AIR RB EC, so that they would have an actual mission to play CAS and other underdog aircraft in apart from G RB.
2 reasons why people spam planes in G RB.
- AIR RB is a stale 10 year old mess, more so now with that 16v16.
- G RB doesn’t have markers and so if you spawn a CAS plane, you won’t get immediately targeted by the whole enemy team for an easy kill.
For those 2 reasons peple run from AIR RB to G RB to have meaningful engagements and subsequently ruin the game for the players that play WT only for the tanks.
In conclusion, you have to fix AIR RB in order to fix G RB.
