Something you seem not to understand, is that yes there isn’t many NATO CAS.
But russian CAS are OMNIPRESENT at 12.7-13.0. Every single top tier game I play against Russia, I have to fight at least 1 CAS (general trend : 3-4 russian CAS per game AT LEAST).
Of course NATO has less CAS at top tier, I think they just gave up the grind when they saw how little chance they had to win at top tier.
Anyway, the statement “Didn’t see much CAS.” at 12.7-13 GRB is just plain dishonesty
I personally would nerf spaa from 9.0 and above, like severe nerf
But also buff it a lot bellow 7.0
At high tier spaa is just complete bs and the only way spaa can fail to kill cas is because the cas just spammed all their ordenance, or the spaa made a mistake
At lower-tier you can just not stay near spaa and you will be mostly safe, aside from lucky shots, which gives you free reign over the map
Not in low-mid tiers with spaag. They are at disadvantage in many ways. Multiple CAS would quickly get rid of the spaag, then totally dominate the battle.
And you assume enough players would jump into the limited-role fighters. I have no intention of using fighters in RGB and I’m confident I’m not alone.
There really is no way to “balance” CAS specifically. I notice it boils down to what nations get matched together/against. Some nations are going to have CAS that is miles better than the competition. When WT matches the nations with extremely good CAS together, the other side will be steamrolled. SPAA effectiveness also depends on this matchmaking. For example, the Pantsir SM/SV is the best at its BR for intercepting munitions (where it primarily faces sub-mach munitions like the Maverick). Pair that with Mach 1+ munitions like the Kh-38MT and you have the best CAS and the best counter to that CAS on the same team. Like I said there really is no way to balance it perfectly, but adjusting matchmaking and analyzing what CAS and SPAA players do on each map would help.
Of course, no CAS = no balance. Without stratosphere attack (which target can’t fight back and clearly is unbalanced and unfair) we can’t have balance.
And thats why all modern armies invest more in air assets than other ones because they want balanced battlefield and not to have upper hand against their enemies.
Easy change to rebalance a bit at prop tiers: general lowering of the BRs of fighter aircraft with limited anti-ground armament.
We already see a lot of GRB/ARB BRs being set separately for higher tier jets. Some props have this too but it’s fairly limited. Fighters are easier to use than SPAA for a lot of players (and frankly they’re just more fun).
