Think about it, if they let more people play fighters in GRB same how you can spawn a heli without ATGM at the start of the game, playing CAS would be much harder
And it would ne harder for mamy ground units
Maybe more players would start to play this objective instead of lemming their way to one cap and wait for their end.
Maybe more players would work together. I fly not much but I often go for the caps that others ignore and if this could give me CAS support by my teammates I could benefit from this. And if I don’t got any cap points I should think about doing something about this.
Got a good example a few days back. I asked for support at the cap where I was busy and asked why almost all players went to one cap. The answer was … not what I expected … “Care about your game …” “Manage the cap yourself” “STFU”
This is where we are right now. I hope we see some changes to game mechanics so we get more teamwork.
Elon Musk is the richest guy on the planet ,bad example. Im saying make the games longer ,let everybody use every vehicle they have and create a team based game.Whole thing is based around a lame ancient design.
.
Maybe if the forum had less negative smart asses saying no to every suggestion and more positivity to change then the game be better. While negative numbskulls are playing gate keeper on here nothing will change.
Company of Heros did allow extra support as areas of the map were taken if I remember correctly. There were five or six zones instead of three and trying to take them all at once would spread a team to thin so each team would always have at least some zones. The battle would be to take those zones back off the enemy. Gave the game intensity.
They bleed the other team out by taking the bulk of the zones or all rather than taking one or 2 and rushing enemy spawn as War Thunder does.
Also unlocking zones meant you could enter the map on those zones or resupply on them so SPAA might have reason to exist.
Yes unlocking a certain level of points on a zone did give you access to a Tiger tank or airstrikes whatever so integrating better weaponry would work that way rather than BR.
Trouble with this forum is that somebody may suggest a good but poorly formed idea and instead of trying to develop it as a team the resident jack ass stamps all over it with a clever but negative comment and nothing gets done.
The best change would be an implementation of TO
Apart from queue times I see no harm. Simply supporting an attempt to try and make the best of combined arms if we must have it.
I there is money in online gaming with tanks then both WT and WoT would both be in line for a major ass kicking if something half decent came in to rival them. Both have the same old faults tearing them down.
I would say CAS balance and BR are the tow major issues with WT.
Only thing I would say as well is that the pursuit of perfect balance from people who can’t tolerate difficulty is an issue as in other war-based games the odds being against you were part of the fun. CAS might be OK if SPAA were readily available, and you don’t have to abandon your tank to get them and risk losing all and being out.
I might suggest it is time to abandon old formats and introduce Warthunder 2 with a no CAS reliance and subsequent TO game, Era protection to a degree and the BR issue sorted.
There is no need for WT 2.
Just implement TO and every issue with balance will be sorted out. No more people who don’t want to get into planes/spaa and just want to play tanks in combined mode, no more nerfs/bufs that only hurt overall gameplay.
It was a basic idea thrown out there to be honest.TO would have its own issues but if one player sits in a corner with an SP getting 5 or 6 kills and having fun the why not?
I would agree but I do think CAS is used to mask some faults in the game, mainly to make the BR system work and cover what some people call broken spots on the map.
There isn’t any broken spot on the map.
Every spot can be taken out with a tank, but people don’t want to use something called brain and use something called tactic.
Abandoned town has a couple behind the spawn point in the north. Only a plane will take you out there I think. Only way I could do it in the end but yes not many. Als if you find a good spot to snipe then why not? Maps are diluted to death now, featureless Iike pool tables.
I have had some great games with no CAS and been able to simply use vehicles Gaijin provide the way they were made to be used. We had hiding spots on maps back then, a simple thing called cover. The crybabies screamed unfair and they all got taken out.
So You are wrong. Tanks can take out everything really.
In theory yes, but there are positions that make a tank nearly impossible to hit while providing it with a huge shooting gallery itself.
Not so sure in WT today. Cover is gone and SP means a guy in TIger 2 on a good spot Down tiered is just going to sit there all game taking out anything he sees on the billiard table of a map we have now. Old maps gave room for initiative new maps dont. Normandy a fine example.
My old style of play seems redundant now. Just struggle to make the old SPs work. I go to any point now and its all rocks and red zones. Being forced to play only one way is why I don’t play at all as much lately.
Not in theory, just in reality.
There isn’t a position on a map where a tank can shoot at the others while they can’t shoot back. There isn’t position on the map that covers every flank.
Tiger II can be destroyed frontally by a lot of vechicles from lower B.Rs., PT-76 is just one example of it.
If somebody has one yes. If not then no. Don’t get me wrong. I used to find good spots and snipe from them. It was a different sort of game and good fun and, yes eventually a tank would dig me out. The good old days.
I also think of you took time to find and get to a sniping spot then you deserved to benefit from it.
Initiative is seen as unfair now, all the hiding places removed. SP guns are pretty much redundant on WW2 maps now it seems.
TO might have its initial faults but I think we should try it. Game is dying anyway.
The only ‘fault’ will be that people are gonna need to use more brain.
I could agree but as I said the “Brain” maps are gone now. Last update sterilized so many.
The BR system is giving rise to so many runaway leaders that CAS is the only way for those in the BR below to stop them.
In real life these is why calling in Airstrikes was done, to take out the lone Jagdtiger that was stopping who platoons form taking a village.
As I said, In the past it might be me or you in that lone Jagdtiger getting the kills which would be nice but all I see is BR induced runaway down tiers stealing the game with 12,13 ,14 kills to the next players 3 or 4. Only CAS is going to stop that as far as I can see.
To be honest when I see somebody with 8 kills and no deaths half way through a game I know its a down tier hidden somewhere and CAS to spot is my go to, especially if I am playing UK at 5.7 against 6.7 otherwise, I am going to add myself to their tally and why would I do that. Maybe if I had unlimited respawns it wouldn’t matter.
I am finding that to be true sadly.I support ULQ completely but your piont is also valid. We all have to fight the same way now it has become the only way.
