I think yes. Because without it, scouting would rarely be done. If it rewarded nothing, it would be the same as making SPAA get no reward for shooting down aircraft.
The only thing that could be removed is the spawn cost reduction mechanic, which is a bit overtuned.
So then why nothing for any form of scouting of aircraft? Nothing for letting team spaa know a plane is coming when i am in a vehicle without so much as a roof mounted .50 or 7.62?
Because that uses the quick message system and not the scouting system. So Its probably beyond the game code to provide a reward. You could add it to the scouting system, but that would only benefit vehicles with scouting. Otherwise it would need an entire new keybind for everyone else
I don’t think it would be too terribly hard for this small indie company to integrate it into the scouting, but have it as an air target only option for the larger vehicles.
No not really. You could move literally EVERY SPAA up by 1.0, and they’d still do perfectly fine, aside from some rank 7s and the few that are already bad, namely Britain’s first SPAA.
Undertiered CAS has never been an issue outside of toptier for as long as I’ve played. even when the A-4E was at 8.7, it was super easy to counter.
you should get a bit of RP and an assist if the target is destroyed. aircraft scouting should be given to SPAAs and light tanks, it would make going against CAS slightly less unbearable.
but just for the record (for people who have issues with reading) this wouldnt replace a tank-only gamemode
yeah theyre not really good for all that much, just singlehandedly winning games, eating missiles and defeating jets all while bullying innocent ground players. not much more to see though
An idea just came up. Thought I could share it as well.
Just like in BATTLEFIELD, there are area’s where players can hop on an utilize stationary AA. I saw this today in a recent match, thought maybe Gaijin can allow these to be used by players for a short period of time. Idk how well this can work. Just food for thought and thinking outside the box here. Maybe someone here can add more mechanics to this idea or leave it alone entirely.
Could have option at the bottom next to ammo selection where we can toggle to activate when next to it and let the player control it ooooooor Ai control it for a good 20 seconds or so.

helis have pars 3 so they just need to pop up fire missiles and dip
