If you could, how would you re-balance CAS in Ground Battles?

BR is there for vehicle balancing, not some vehicle type that is completely optional to the mode itself.

Don’t forget proper map & objective design that minimizes forced interaction and mindless CQB with actual options and choices beyond “front towards the enemy.”

That too would be an excellent source of balancing for heavies vs mediums. One’s forced to commit, other’s flexible and can just say “Yeah, no.” and go do another objective.

BR can’t solve all balance issues. CAS greatly aids in balancing as it levels the playing field.

Ground vehicles are balanced around other ground vehicles, otherwise Maus could be at 2.0

Totally optional vehicle type can’t solve any balancing issues.
As ULQ said, ground vehicles are balanced between themselves, so no need for external “balancers”.

There are very few instances in the game where heavy tanks are not at the mercy of faster, more agile vehicles with more modern weapons that can pen the thick armor that makes the heavies slow and easy targets. The outlier usually occurs earlier in the ranks when a Churchill or some such tank meets opponents that can’t pen their armor.

For the most part, the “rat” tanks can drive circles around tanks like Tiger 2 and carry weapons that can pen their upper glacis plate.

CAS is NOT needed AT ALL to “balance” heavy tanks.

If both heavies could eaisly destroy each other frontally it would mean that they should be at the same B.R.

I don’t see a problem there that BR can’t easily solve already. Planes don’t even need to spawn at all, so making your balancing decisions based on that vehicle type is ridiculous.

Guess what, uptiers are always going to exist, BRs can’t fix that.

Should you get a reward for scouting? Spawn points, silver lions, rp, and reduced spawn cost for aircraft?

I think yes. Because without it, scouting would rarely be done. If it rewarded nothing, it would be the same as making SPAA get no reward for shooting down aircraft.

The only thing that could be removed is the spawn cost reduction mechanic, which is a bit overtuned.

So then why nothing for any form of scouting of aircraft? Nothing for letting team spaa know a plane is coming when i am in a vehicle without so much as a roof mounted .50 or 7.62?

Because that uses the quick message system and not the scouting system. So Its probably beyond the game code to provide a reward. You could add it to the scouting system, but that would only benefit vehicles with scouting. Otherwise it would need an entire new keybind for everyone else

I don’t think it would be too terribly hard for this small indie company to integrate it into the scouting, but have it as an air target only option for the larger vehicles.

considering their replay system is built on hopes and dreams, i doubt they’d add a feature that practically already exists (T-6-1).
