If teams stop receiving rewards for losing, I think this would fix a lot of War Thunder's issues. Hear me out

Turns out my favorite spot I camp in prevents the enemy from capturing 2 of the 3 capture zones entirely winning the match if my team is able to survive.

I would argue that you can do everything right and still lose.

War Thunder is a match of largely random players vs random players and one has very little control over who your on that team with, or against, outside of your own 2-4 man team.

Punishing one of two well played sides isn’t going to please folks, and the sting of losing the “winner bonus” is already enough without making people just hang it up for the day.

If you want to incentivize folks to play the objective, then the suggestion might be to make playing objectives matter more.

The only cavate I would give there is to not give enhanced rewards until after the first few minutes. That way suicide rushing is also discouraged as a means of advancement. You could keep the same rewards now for those initial minutes and I think that would be just fine.

How do I downvote a post?

We definitely need reaction abilities on these threads… Liking alone doesn’t show the reality.

The old forum used to have them

Is this a troll post? You are the reason your teamtes lose. Straight up. DO you ever reflect voer your own capabilities before you post stuff like this?

This would instantly cause 1dl to be insane.

People will leave the second they think their team will lose, this will cause others on their team to leave. This will lead to a massive increase in steamrolls and create horrible matches.

People already complain about the amount of 1dl and steamrolls. A change to greatly increase them is not a good idea.

The irony of people willing to sacrifice the progress of 50% of all players to get what they want while at the same time complaining about “selfish” teammates who don’t care about winrates isn’t lost on me.

I miss the laughing emoji. It was great to highlight such ridiculous posts.

hell no, the rewards are already low for losing. No step down

Imagine trying to play a br where your nation doesn’t have a good win rate. You could get some 10 kills, run back and forth to every cap as best you can, fight off the entire enemy team by yourself, but eventually get overpowered and lose the game because all your teammates left in the first 5 minutes. And even though you did your best to both win the game and fight the enemy team, you get no rewards because you can’t fight an almost full team by yourself. This may or may not be based in experience. This would be the worst change to ever add to the game.

I get the distinct impression that a portion of forum complaints are people who are having a rough time for what ever reason (hey, that’s life) who just so happen to be war thunder players.

I don’t think it’s always a conscious decision but the outcome always seems to be “here my idea for a gameplay feature that will make everyone else as miserable as me” and then they proceed to take the negative feedback personally and fight everyone who disagrees with them while trying to maintain the thin veneer of “hey, it’s just like, my idea man” “its just a discussion bro”

im not keen on the idea.

Some nations got extremely strong lineups at some BRs and i fear this will just make “those” specific lineups/nations way more used and while others will be forgotten.

Yes, there are some WT players with the tactical sense of a can of tuna, but punishing those who can find their arse without a map and gps would not do any good.

And yes, people will be even more inclined to leave after one death if they see they are on the loosing team when no reward is in sight.

In addition to all the other arguments people have made in this thread, would this not make SL and RP boosters nearly worthless?

Yes, lets make the grind to get through tech tree’s 100X harder and longer to get through so you just have to pay real money for every vehicle in the game. 100k to play war thunder? no problem.

Do you think he should have been punished because my team consisted of potatoes? I single-handedly stopped the enemy’s attack on the spawn and then the CAS horde. Should I be punished?

In theory (thread author) your potatoes will get zero rewards and that will make them re-think and train to be better and win.

Funny, some team will always lose even if there is a super expert vs super expert, so all your hard training and work sometimes will be useless haha

So destroying 15+ enemies is useless if they are not near the “objective”, interesting

Punishment has always worked well in the history of mankind.
The number of players who don’t even have a basic understanding of tactics has risen sharply in recent months. Many leave battles early out of frustration. I’m regularly the last resort in battles with my boys and girls.
We pick up points and are satisfied with what we have been able to achieve. But often extremely frustrated with the team’s behaviour.
And if I’ve understood correctly, is the proposal to cancel all rewards for the losing team? Just a standardised payout for everyone? Perhaps regardless of performance? It would be nice to penalise the last people who try to save something in the game.
People would leave the battles at the first sign of idiocy. Anyone with a bit of sense will quickly recognise the number of 12 year old ‘I just want to have fun’ players by the amount of machine gun fire in the spawn at the start of a battle.

And that is the problem with theories. They assume people will do what the theory’s author would do.

I guess op would stay in matches regardless. However, people will notice that losing give basically nothing then start bailing the second they fell it is a lost cause.

This would appear to be what op wants. Even if you hold out to the end, you get crumbs
