PZL P.11 was a fighter aircraft developed by Polish manufacturer Państwowe Zakłady Lotnicze. It was a successful plane of 1930s. One of the main users of this plane was Romania, the variant equipped with I.A.R. 9K Mistral (Romanian license-built Gnome-Rhône) engine and 4 fast-firing 7.92 mm FN Browning machine guns instead of original Polish wz.33, called P.11f was built by IAR (Industria Aeronautică Română) under license at Brașov, some sources also claim that Romanian P.11f were modified to carry small 12kg bombs. Overall from 1937 to 1938, 95 aircraft of this modification were built. Romanian-built aircraft were distinguished by a more rounded, barrel-shaped cowling and the absence of a propeller spinner. P.11f were used by Romania from 1938 to at least the end of 1945. They took part in battles over Moldova and near Odessa city. Due to its relatively old design at the time of the invasion against Soviet Union, Romanians used this type mostly as a light attacker and many of them were destroyed by anti-aircraft units. In 1942 P.11 started to be changed to new IAR-80 fighters and went to training duties. Although in 1944, when Soviet Army approached Romanian borders some of these planes once again were used as light attackers, but later returned to training. In War Thunder this plane should be an interesting low tier fighter representing Romanian aviation.
