I think US AIR should get a serious buff. Its not about that skill issue its need a buff

Something feel off about that g pull stated by the guy of AIM 9X. G pull of AIM 9X is still classified and is believed to be around 80-60G

I doubt its that high. Probably more like 50.

It is afterall just Aim-9M with TVC slapped on

There is only so much a bodged missile is going to be able to do without major redesigns

Why do you think so?

Combo of what it is set to on the CLAW and a few secondary sources ive seen online. The IRIS-T is 60G+ and is a purpose built missile, designed for extremely high G off the rails. Im doubting the Aim-9X, an Aim-9M with a new a TVC nozzle and a new seeker would suddenly jump from 35G to 80G

But there are videos of it pulling high G and i said it is believed to be around 80G to 60g and not 80G

Videos are highly subjective though and it could be doing 40G for all you know

I would try to find some more source about it then (knowing i am gonna fail but worth a shot)

calling the 9x and aim9m with TVC is like calling the aim120 and aim7 with ARH, the missiles have more differences than things in common

Such as?

The US literally pulled out of the ASRAAM programm because they wanted to use up 30k Aim-9Ms.

They quite literally are Aim-9Ms with swapped seeker heads and a TVC nozzle. The warhead and motor i beleive are 100% identical

The baseline -9X literally uses the AIM-9M’s Mk. 36 Motor with an added TVC control section. The Block 3 (canceled) and “Block II Plus” (AIM-9X-3), revises the propellant.

The entire point of the -9X program is to iteratively replace components as the spiral development programs reach maturity and funds are made available to Ship of Theseus the existing inventory, in order to minimize risk. Allowing for the existing infrastructure to be reused where possible to the maximum extent possible. in order to save money.

If they wanted performance the AIM-132 or earlier AIM-95 was the way to go.

The question these days is what exactly is supposed to eventually replace the Sidewinder.

different Length different weight, entirely new fin and body design

@ OP,

It’s indeed a skill issue.

But you’re also surrounded by behemoths in the Su-30SM2, AESA-equipped Eurofighters, Rafales and to a lesser extent, J-10C and/or JAS39E.

So really… unless gaijin drops either the F-15EX or F-22 in the next 2 months (doubtful, btw) and we revisit this conversation again in some form or another, I think it’s time to take a broader look at the overall US player base…

The problem, or “problem”, with the US in game is that the US in real life relies on multiple support aircraft as well as base fighters to do their job and do it well. AWACS is a prime example- look at the new missile, the AIM-174B. It’s whole design is built on data link and BVR radars.

The US in part is gimped not because our aircraft suck but because they lack the support system they are naturally dependent on IRL

Maybe AIM-260? It is supposed to have AESA and IIR seeker along with TVC which is very strange for a long range ARH missile

i would just kinda ignore that statement anyways since the ASRAAM will have the same lock range as the 9X and IRS-T already in game so his comment doesn’t even make sense

It’s 50G.

i dont think thats even necessary the people calling the 9X bad tend to ignore the fact that based on how its already implemented in game it would be a nice all rounder with no clear weakness in any category

us mains when the cant curbstomb an entire lobby

I know it smacks hard, even from launching from a ground platform, and it will just be even better when launched from a plane. People are just really downplaying 9x for some reason.

Can you please provide the source (real life source not game source)
