Several reasons, I guess.
I like playing WW2 and Cold War vehicles over modern vehicles.
I enjoy to spade vehicles. So I have fun spading all vehicles in the same BR before I start on the next BR. Currently, I have spaded all nations (perhaps with a few exceptions for vehicles I really don’t like) up to BR 9-10.
And I try to have at least 100 battles in every vehicle. It’s an entertaining way to pass the time if you’re bored. :)
I guess. I have all the frebch tanks up to rank Viii spaded. I just cannot play top tier its so dogshit.
I also have all planes up to rank vii spaded. But I don’t think I will be spading any of the non french designs because fuck copy paste.
I’m playing airsim for the past 4 years exclusively . I earn enough SL that I can buy and crew the next unlock when I research it pretty much everytime. Now ground and naval, that is grind of apocalyptic levels.
Ground grind is soul grinding. Especially high tiers have 3 slightly different copies of same Leopard/M1A1 whatever. It is artifically hard. They are ok if they are foldered.
Go try killing an equivalent tier battleship with HE. Good luck. Doubly so if you’re a Yamato or Musashi and the enemy is a Soyuz or Iowa.

Expert and aced crews are definitely the main problem for the economy SL wise. Whenever you buy a high tier jet, you have to buy it twice and whoosh! 2 - 3 million SL gone. Don’t even get me started on how they increased the cost of expert crews on premiums as well, making some of them upwards of 2 million
The funny part is that if you don’t have an expert crew, the other guy is a lot more likely to pull in on you since you’ll have to dip your nose a lot earlier than him. It’s literally like having an extra G suit module with a ridiculous price tag
Yeah toptier expert and ace crews are insanely P2W, reloads, repair and G tolerance all make such an insane difference that especially aceing is just unfair for f2p or employed premium players
