As of right now, console players (when we have our crossplay turned off) can only play Arcade and Customs only (Ground, Air, and Naval, no Helicopter PVE). I say let us have the entire game. Sure, it might increase queue times (like I care), but at least Xbox and PlayStation players can have more modes than just Arcade.
I play Xbox because I enjoy playing Xbox. If I wanted to play PC, I would boot up my old Dell from 2009 and play Gravity Guy on Miniclips. For two decades Xbox and PlayStation players were able to play on our respective consoles, and I don’t see why we are forced to play with PC players or else forfeit most of the game. Why should we be restricted just because we want to play console vs console?
i doubt it, the only dev/preview versions i remember were on Xbox, and they were for Minecraft and strictly “Beta” versions. Since Dev servers have many changes within a small amount of time, i imagine there’d be issues with that too. thats too much work for gaijin
Im for being able to turn off crossplay to get rid of a notable chunk of trash teammates in premium pack vehicles while also making sealclubbing more of a challenge
I wasn’t aware of this. There’s been an increase in hackers also since they changed to GarbageEye aswell, so if it’s true than being able to turn off crossplay and still have access to realistic would be a major boon honestly.
Hell, I would take Sim since they already have close to no one playing, so it won’t ruin queue times (you already have to wait 20 minutes anyways for Sim battles anyways in the sky).
As someone whom doesn’t play Sim I personally don’t have an interest in it, but by principle the console players should absolutely have full access to the game modes/matchmaking even with crossplay turned off.
Nope, it’s either we get arcade or we have to fight the 5,000+ cheaters that get banned every month (and considering how good cheating software is, those numbers of actual cheaters are probably doubled)
Whilst i am with you in general (free choice of cross play or not) i am not sure why you don’t want to fight PC players. I mean if you play extremely competitive i agree that the low FPS and imho way inferior graphics are relevant obstacles - but you can attach mouse and keyboard to your console so there is no real disadvantage due to the xbox controller with his known downsides.
One: I play Xbox, and since from 2012-2020 I played against Xbox players only. That’s how they were designed. If I wanted to play against PC, I would fire up my old Windows and play PC.
Two: why would I play with a mouse and keyboard? I bought an Xbox, I play with the remote. I use a keyboard to write, not play video games, unless I’m on Miniclips reliving my childhood.
Three: Crossplay is killing gaming. There’s a reason why I’m playing older games, and that is because I do not have to play against PC players, and guess what? I’m having fun. Heck, I’m even having fun playing video games I used to play on my PS2 on Xbox. Quite fun.
Four: there is a difference between competitive and pubs. I did tournaments for Call of Duty (not MLG, more like your “Toys R Us” tournaments, where you put in some money to enter and you either walk out with a great portion, good portion, half decent portion, or none of the money. I’ve done the same with War Thunder. There’s a difference between competition and pubs. I could care less about my stats because I view my actual abilities are shown in actual competition, not some pub lobby where everyone leaves after one death.
Five: PC players ruin gaming for console players. Prior to Crossplay, I rarely if ever ran into cheaters. Everyone was mostly on equal ground. The only difference was sensitivity and keybinds. After Crossplay, it was basically game after game after game of clear cheating: and the PC players brag about it. Going on their Facebook and TikTok, showcasing the newest cheats for cheap likes, it’s pretty clear they enjoy abusing console players, and they are the ones preventing us from just playing by ourselves as we had for decades.
Six: PC players kill fixing games. Before, our games were optimised for our consoles. Therefore any fixes were fixed, because they didn’t have to fix it for console AND for PC. Now we have a million and one bugs because of PC players crying about a pixel, and we have to download 500mb just for them to stop whining.
Whilst some of your points are reasonable and actually comprehensible i am not sure if you will become happier if all game modes are opened (or just available) to console only lobbies.
If you search for MnK attached to consoles whilst playing wt you might be surprised how many console players use them.
Whilst i agree that certain games became unplayable thx to PC cheaters (or just abysmal underperforming controllers) even games exclusive for consoles are infected by cheaters. They either attach MnK, use controllers with scripts or manage to access these games and lobbies via their xbox accounts on PC. And these guys cheat like hell - reports to MS or EA have zero effects. My last game i quitted was SWBF 2015 (amazing game) thanks to cheating sweatlords.
Your pov regarding cheats makes sense if you play wt game modes which are prone to be targeted by cheaters - those cheats are mainly dealing with spotting and aiming. Game modes like Air RB are rather immune to that as we have markers and in more than 40k matches (i have an old inactive account which was compromised) i can claim i never met a cheater.
Regarding convenience:
I play with the certified Thrustmaster Hotas (6 meter cable😂) from our living room. I use the controller for minor stuff like MEC or chat and the mouse (ofc wireless) for looking around - no keyboard.
So from a technical perspective i trade the two advantages of mouse aim (accuracy and artificial stabilization allowing point & click) against better turning and handling as the PC mouse aim players play to 99% with instructor enabled. The way better graphics and fps of a PC come on top…
I feel on eye’s level with any pc player.
Last but not least:
At a certain point of your life you might agree that there is no need for a PC. Private stuff too complicated for your iPad is rare - for such things a notebook is enough. Consoles like xbox are usually immune vs cyber threats (as long as MS or Sony accounts or game providers are not hacked) and are no danger for your home network.
If you have kids (especially if one is a boy) you might agree that you can’t prevent them for asking (or wishing) for a gamer PC or notebook - as soon as they get older the demand decreases.
Sure, people can use Cronus and all that shite, but at least it’s not all the hacks available to PC.
Although I have seen the infinite missile spam, which has been proven to exist.
I have zero idea what any of that means. A keyboard is a keyboard. You can have your thrust master thing (which does not sound appropriate) but I’ll stick with my laptop or my old desktop.
I’ll tell my kid the same thing my mother told me: 1 hour of reading for 30 minutes of screen time. Smacking the kid for crying is allowed as long as I don’t get caught.
