I’d really like to see this become a more permanent mode, similar to what has been discussed around Nuclear Thunder.
I know opinions vary on some event modes, and I’ve heard mixed feedback about Nuclear Thunder from people who otherwise enjoyed it. But with Advance specifically, the response in my community was overwhelmingly positive. A lot of people seemed to have a genuinely good time with it.
That said, my broader point is not only about this one mode. I think War Thunder could really benefit from more variety in game modes overall. I understand there may be matchmaking concerns, player-count limitations, development priorities, or other reasons why the standard rotation has stayed mostly the same for so long. I’m not trying to ignore the realities of running a live-service game.
But from a player perspective, the lack of permanent or semi-permanent mode variety feels like a missed opportunity. Events are great for bringing people back and creating excitement, but it would be nice if some of the more successful ideas had a path toward becoming regular options rather than disappearing after a limited run.
Advance felt like one of those modes that could add long-term value to the game, and I hope Gaijin considers keeping it around in some form.
