I never before realized how much motivation to play this game stems from clearly displayed stats

I’ve been playing this game since it went into open beta (nearly 12 years ago) and have gathered quite a few screenshots by now. I’ve decided to share a particular selection of them, showcasing the progression of the player card design over the years…

29.4.2013.

17.12.2013.

14.3.2014.

12.1.2015.

4.5.2018.

3.6.2019.

9.3.2021.

17.11.2024.

Progress … until this update.

Absolutely. What I’m trying to imply with this topic is that the new player card sucks:

So clicking on “Statistics” is too hard?

Sorry, but that’s really not the End of the World, no?

(Btw, wasn’t it also said that’s just a first iteration, with more to come?)

Only if your Ego is greater than the love for the vehicles and the game. I agree the new profile card sucks but surely you didn’t download the game just to look at stats?

the first menu looks the coolest ngl. it looks far too “video game console edition” to me with how the menus are so oversized for how little screen they use now, it feels like the menus from a game like forza

Old statistics (edit: Service record, I meant to say it was the second tab):

New statistics (edit: second tab, information which was previously on the default view):

Now you have to go into Service record (edit: third tab) to find that information:

And you’re still short of the vehicle summary information (owned/spaded) which was situated on the default player card before the current patch.

I’d say this is a huge step backward.

It clearly displays less information. No number of vehicles owned and spaded, no medals on the first page. No K/D.

In that case they should have just waited until it was finished.

How can anyone call this an improvement when we don’t even have feature parity is beyond me.

it looks more presentable at the cost of simple functionality by moving all the buttons further away. It looks like a mobile game statsheet tbh

I didn’t say I was done playing this game, only that my enjoyment in it is considerably diminished. There’s no point in spading new vehicles anymore.

Edit: And don’t call me Shirley. ;)

Also, in old service records, WR could be visible to one decimal place until 2016 or 2017, but now they are all displayed as integers.

People addicted to stats, me addicted to vehicles:

It’s a complete downgrade. Lost all uniqueness it had, as well as it’s efficiency to relay information faster.

The least they could do is make it optional

Why would I bother clicking on it? There’s so much useless space on profile pages these days. The vast majority of players had no problem with the profile page before this content update, so why bother changing it? Our game is not a simple shooter, we need detailed information and data. warthunder has a lot of other things that need to be changed, and I think using resources in the right places will make our game better.

They should’ve waited an update to change the player profile, it looks quite unfinished.
