I need for help for spotting in sim battles

I started to play sim after more than a year break.
I started to play yesterday with the C.R. 32, Mig-15 and Me 410 A-1/U4. I played only in test flights. I set the AI to low enemies. However, I couldn’t see a sinlge biplane during the test flight. I could only spot the ground vehicles from about 700 or 500 metres.

I would like to know is there an option to improve visibility for vehicles.
As I remember, back then it was easier to spot.

Hi, Solyom,

there are many, many aspects to aircraft spotting but, here are some basics to get you started:

-First of all, I suggest instead of test flight or mission builder, use custom battles (costs nothing, earns nothing) where you are surely going to be close to other planes. Start a custom battle with password using the map named Domination Stalingrad-a very small map so you meet enemy planes quickly. NOTE: Customs are buggy meaning, some enemy AI self-destruct by diving into the ground. One must try different combinations to find something that works for them, I.E. it’s “Gaijin’d”. ;)

-Options/graphics/antialiasing smooths/blurs your overall image to eliminate gritty, spikey appearance and can also interfere with spotting aircraft so, set aside time to test each and every antialiasing setting, launch a match and test then test again and again. My graphics card (Nvidia GTX 1080ti) allows me to use SSA x 4 without antialiasing which I prefer for clarifying the image.

-Old Knowledge: The graphics settings file can become corrupted so, with War Thunder NOT running, find your War Thunder game folder in C: / Program Files, Program Files (86) or elsewhere, open War Thunder folder, scroll to " .config " and delete it. The War Thunder launcher will automatically create a clean replacement and you can configure graphics as you like (easily if you’ve snapped screenshots of your preferred settings before deleting config).

I might post more methods later but, the above should keep you busy making basic adjustments.

Good luck!
