I’ve been playing the last two US ground ranks at top tier, and I have to say that the experience has been both disappointing and frustrating. I won’t go into too much detail, but I’d really like to hear other players’ thoughts and opinions to get a better understanding of their experiences, especially when it comes to MBTs.
While I’m at it, I also want to point out something I’ve noticed happening quite frequently: the difference in kill counts between Russian and US vehicles. I don’t think winning the match itself necessarily makes up for that gap, but that’s just my opinion. (I’m aware that half of the enemy team had already been eliminated, but this happens even when most of the enemy team is still alive. Anyway, that’s just my observation.)
I’d also like to mention that the ERA armor on the latest Abrams tanks has only really been useful against BMPT autocannons, which used to kill me even without ATGMs. Meanwhile, the additional armor package on the T-90 “Arena” has sometimes managed to completely stop my shots, even at perpendicular angles. I’m using ammunition with penetration values ranging from 629 mm (stock ammunition) to 633 mm (the researchable round).
At Rank VII, the Abrams had better mobility thanks to their lighter armor compared to Russian vehicles. However, that’s no longer the case at Rank VIII. In fact, Russian vehicles seem to move across the map even faster than their US counterparts. (I understand this is due to the additional armor increasing the Abrams’ weight, but does that mean I should just remove it?)
Anyway, sorry for making this post so long. I just wanted to share some personal thoughts. And please, if you’re only going to defend Russian vehicles, I’d rather you refrain from commenting. As I said, I’m simply looking for opinions and experiences from other players who actually use the Abrams.
I still have the last two Abrams tanks left to research, but honestly, I’m no longer sure whether it’s even worth the effort.
Any advice or tips for playing the Abrams would also be greatly appreciated, I guess.
I originally started playing this game because of its mechanics and top-tier vehicles, not just those of the US, but also those of most other nations, including Russia. However, after putting so much time into the game, I’m starting to question whether it’s really worth it anymore.
