Ideally the top BR would go much higher than 15.0, but I made this with the assumption that the top BR would not be raised any more than the 0.3 we have been getting per year.
And just a breakdown of the differences between the F-35 variants
F-35A (would be the best one for the game):
- Has an internal gun
- Has a higher G limit
- Fixed nozzle, so no VTOL
F-35B:
- Funny 5th gen VTOL plane
- No internal gun (can use a gunpod)
- Smaller internal weapons bay due to the VTOL fan up front
F-35C:
- Larger, foldable wings
- Reinforced gear and airframe for carrier landings
- No internal gun (can use a gunpod)
- Fixed nozzle, so no VTOL
Definitely ideal…but i also see Gaijin making the F-35B a premium because… obviously WT can’t be bought to toptier
Don’t expect a gap more than battle rating 1.0 between 4.5th-generation and 5th-generation airplanes. Gaijin has shared their intentions on adding proper weapons to defeat those aircraft, I think they’ll (the airplanes) face previous generation airplanes—that’s how it ever worked. Nonetheless I’m excited to play these next-generation airplanes, specially the chinese J-20, I hope we have news on these airplanes very soon.
I would be surprised if the F-35s are “top tier” as gaijin defines it (max BR) the F-22 is a far better airframe and all the systems the F-35 relies on are not modeled in war thunder currently.

Even though all three F-35 variants are basically their own standalone aircraft from each other i do think its better if they are all foldered or in a line together.
You’ve got a base model, a slightly bigger model and a Yak 141 that actually sort of works, they arent going to be that extreme in variance from each other to validate being in three different lines for what i have to guess will be rank X.
F-35 is also gonna be spammed everywhere as most relevant modern militaries have one (either as they co-designed it or were lobbied into building it) so the requirement to grind 3 lines for all of them is an even taller order when its probably just gonna be after the harrier GR.7, Tornado IDS SLE and F-2a
Do think 15.0 is a realistic prediction to where they will end up sadly, the current stuff could easily stretch to 20.0 before stealth fighters with IIR and BVRAAMs start appearing.
I really hope there isnt a premium F-35, if gaijin really wants a stealth fighter to be wasted on premium it better be the X-32
they will for other nations because of the meteor missile being far better than the AIM-120D3 (and being a fair fews only option for a full blown top tier)

yeah, I was referring to the USA variants that will be restricted to the same weapons as the F-22, I’m not sure what other nations uses which weapons on them, so I won’t presume to speculate.
However for the UK a premium Australian F-35 is plausible as we use AIM-9X and AIM-120s on them same as the USA.
Don’t worry. They’ll make a premium F-35B and due to the mentioned lack of EW and other features, in addition to the worse FM compared to other F-35s + F-22 they’ll put it at some ungodly BR that makes Su-30MK will seem overtiered

youre not using ASRAAM? thats what the RAAF has been using on F/A-18 for years now.
intresting, especially as meteor and ASRAAM are fully compatible. Wouldnt be surprised if only using american missiles was pressured into the deal after the slight arguments over hacking the F/A-18s software
Or that “small” issue where our contractors put all the F-35 data on a server with the password “password” before we even got the 1st airframe (which naturally got hacked and stolen)… or the recent one where they accidently mailed some of the more advanced avionics to the Chinese CCP… I’m honestly surprised anybody sells us anything more advanced then props at this point.

Or an early Block 10 F-22, with the Block 20 being tech tree and the Block 30/35 coming after the 20 with the 9X and other upgraded weapons

I think there will be no premnium 5th Gen, but 4.5 or 4 Gen Aircraft. I would love to see a premnium or squadron Ground attack that can carry food amount of HARMs, good ir or tv ordinance ( no AGM65F, ) . Best would be prem, only if it not that unique, soemthing that has a counter for TT
