I’m basically writing this cuz Im bored, and I’m also tired of gaijins shenanigans.

Dagor engine:
Many times and times again gaijin says “we can’t” or “too difficult” to add that because of the limitations of the dagor engine there using (and lazyness). So we’ll my solution is too remake the dagor engine, they certainly have enough money so that won’t be an issue, and they probably have the manpower as well. I don’t know too much about game engines but a complete rewrite of a system might be a good idea, especially with seamless integration of new content and mechanics/simulation. And it’s their game engine so they can do whatever they want, even optimizing the game more. Maybe we can have fully distructable environments, or cvt or fully realistic destruction models for air rather than section models they should have added a long time ago.

‘Realism’ over balance:
I don’t know why this game tries to be as unrealistic as possible sometimes (aphe/turret rings), but they really need to have a set prioritys. I know that Russian vehicles might underproform compared to NATO tanks but I want all vehicles no matter the be to have realistic values regardless of balance. Vehicles like the type 10 and leclerc underproform severlay because the devs don’t want them to be overpowered, well I got news to you, most players who actually like these vehicles want them as accurate as possible to there real life counterparts. Gaijin also likes adding features or mechanics to vehicles (like the turret ring), the. Proseads not to integrate into the rest. I want people to realize that this behavior is unacceptable, and you all shouldn’t act like whipped puppies about it like, “oh is gaijin, their probably not going to fix it any time soon”. And ik, gaijin isn’t very good with communication with the player base and that’s something they need to work on, but just don’t be too complacent.

Naval rework:
I know I know, naval is suuupper boring, but thats just more the reason it should be reworked. I’ve made a more detailed post about it awhile ago, so I’ll just give you some light details. The maps should be way bigger, and the gamemode has to be enduring confrontation. The TT shouldn’t go from destroyer to cruisers to battleships, it should instead be side by side, and with the integration aircraftcarriers, and submarines. (Here’s a general layout).


And this can easily be balanced by the utilization of spawn point.

Sub tech-trees:
In my observation the big problem people actually have with sub TT is that they don’t feel enough like there own tree, and that’s the result of there vehicles getting splattered in these TT. So the simple solution is to change the layout so that their minimized to the side when you open the TT and when u open them it minimizes the main TT;



Like this. Anyways idk how rp would work, I think someone said your should get a RP discount for the sub TT ranks whenever you finish researching the corresponding rank in the main TT.

Nation tax:
No nation should be balanced differently just because the players of that nation generally sit at a higher skill level. I don’t think nations should be balanced off of player profomance but rather vehicle performance. Ik ik, Minor nation will probably out proform major ones, but over time it will balance out.

Tutorial:
One problem is these dam kids playing top tier that they bought and immediately dieing. So my solution is whenever you play a vehicle with an unfamiliar mechanic, you should have to complete at least a basic tutorial, then have a more in depth one thats optional but rewards you for completing it. This is a very complex game and people with like 300hrs are still considered new to some.

1- Dagor 7 is likely in deep development. Patience is key here.

2- Blowout panels are a realistic thing.
APHE was sadly a community vote.

4- Sub-trees are great.
They’re additions that make the host tree even more unique in lineups.

5- Nation tax doesn’t exist.
Claiming it exists would imply Soviets have a nation tax, which we know they don’t despite a number of their over-BR’d vehicles compared to other tech trees.

No objections outside those points.

Hold on… Are you forgetting this is a game?

Without balance - many current players would quit and new players would not stay long.

It will be broken and would not be sustainable.

No, I’m not forgetting it’s a game.
There are other ways to balance but, vehicles should be as accurate to there real life counterparts as possible, and with as many realistic mechanics as possible. If not than warthunder can just become wot at this point.

Just look at the oplot, it’s half baked, because the armor is no where as strong as it’s supposed to be; and for what? Because it’s in the Japanese TT not the Russian one.

And look at all the other vehicles like the type 10, leclerc and all the other ones, wrong all of it.

Issue with the naval rework is that it can’t get a sixth line due to the 5 line limit. Probably needs to merge the two cruiser lines (that is if we even get playable carriers which is a big ask for a few reasons).

Oh yea, I totally forgot got about that. I would just merge the cuisers

Im generally for this.

War thunders engine is at its limit and needs a remake, upgrade or total replacement

Certain mechanics like APHE being an OPHE and questionable liberties taken with certain vehicles are tiring. Its also annoying when a tank or aircraft is fully capable of using a weapon but for “balance” they restrict it substancially

Naval needs bigger maps and to get rid of the fake/laid down only battleships with completley unrealistic capabilities. ill touch the mode again when they do that

So you are ok with Tiger 2s facing late cold war vehicles - where a smaller, faster, light-tank with modern weapons can penn the UFP, but having mechanisms that don’t completely mirror real life is unacceptable?

Lol, what does this have anything to do on what I said. In terms of balancing, vehicles should be balanced purely vehicle performance, not player profomance or all of that smuck. But what I’m actually asking is for vehicles to be implemented as accurately as possible to it’s real life counterpart. And the way to balance that is to add similar proforming vehicles along side it.

You were so vague in your use of the word “balance” only you know what you really meant.
I never mentioned player performance.

suggests you don’t give a crap about each nation being “balanced” in terms of vehicle performance.

Get real. They dilute nations down into slop.

BRs can change, vehicle characteristics should not.

This wont work.

It works for WoWs because damage is based upon hitpoints, not a realistic damage model. There is no way that a destroyer, light cruiser or even a heavy cruiser will realistically go toe to toe with most battleships.

All it would do is render the game unplayable for all but the larger classes. There is a reason why it is like it is.

Turning every match into NEC isnt going to work either. That gamemode has its issues, especially the snowball effect.

Balance should be achieved by Battle Rating, the problem is is that Gaijin doesnt fully understand that and places vehicles at the wrong BRs. They have a wierd obsession with “effeciency” rather than actual vehicle stats

Yes, they need to get better at modeling things more fairly. NATO vs Soviet ERA for example is a complete joke. But nerfing or buffing certain vehicles ahistorically defeats the entire point of having BR in the first place.

Though the devs should ahve never listened to the community with regard to APHE, it needs to be nerfed or APDS needs to be buffed

They need to do something, but like I said earlier. They need to weight BRs less on player stats and more on common sense. Or failing that, just make sure that like for like vehicles are at the same BR across nations.

I agree here. Drives me nuts there is no mandatory tutorial for IFF (or even an available option for one) when entering SB and there is a lot of features poorly explained
