That’s it, try it. You won’t succeed. Because of the missiles horrible drag, underpowered booster, and altogether made up sustainer, you wont succeed. Not even half of the 120km launch range, not even half of the already cut down launch range of 100kg that Gaijin thinks this missile can do.
Try to compare it to the BUK which has less range ?right?. Try to compare it to the CAM-ER at 20km, see who gets there sooner, ?right?. Because the Aster has a top speed of Mach 4.5 ?right?. Oh it does not reach even Mach 4 in some scenarios? That’s perfect, put it into the game. The lateral fin thrust vectoring is not in game? Perfect also make sure to add the fuel in the missile anyway to weight it down even more.
Try it you won’t make it. Its a miracle when it gets to 30km. Tried it in a custom battle once, did not survive the horror. Mach 0.7 at 25/26km traveled. Shot at a target flying towards me at a straight line (2000m height). True horror, probably was not that scared before ever in my life. Goriest scene in any horror movie, watching the missile drop from mach 4 to mach 3 in two seconds, all in those short 4 seconds of sustainer burn. What came down afterwards was a true decrescendo. It hurt so much i began to smile, but it all ended with a whimper. I left knowing that if the target, was just a few kilometers further the missile would have just collapsed on the floor. A tear dropped from my eye at that thought. Truly my favorite horror movie, recommend always.
Try it for yourself if you dare… Muahahahah
launch range != effective range. the problem is the horrible kinematics of the missile

At what point do you think i was talking about effective range? I dare people to make the missile travel 100km by any means necessary
launch range isnt effective range. sparrows say 50km on statsheet, they are good for 10 max if youre lucky

The manufacturer claims 100km effective, but we know how gaijin trusts Western manufacturers

but they fully trust soviet documents, who make ww2 german documents look cleaner than a NASA sample tube.
Why do people keep missing the point. Launch range = Maximum range that the missile can fly in perfect environments. Effective range = range at what the missile can intercept a target. For a 150km+ Launch range, effective range should not be below 20km for maneuvering targets, but it is (Probably closer to 15km at sealevel). Why is the effective range of the Buk almost double that of the Aster 30, if the manufacturers maximum range is >150km. (Aster30B2NT - uses the same booster and sustainer)
I did testing, BUK M3 missile with optimal conditions reaches a little over 80km–10 more than the 70km launch range–while never reaching subsonic speeds being only limited to missile lifetime. ASTER-30 did not reach 100km in with ideal conditions tested multiple times only reaching under 90km which is granted 10km more than the BUK-M3 but it took twice as long to reach said distance and the missile was subsonic for almost a 1/4 of it’s flight. BUK-M3 missile exceeds launch range, ASTER-30 never reachs its launch range no bias here comrade.
