Fireflash can not lock to anything. It uses the radar coming from your plane to stay in the center of your line of sight. There is no irst/radar lock.
I mean this is wrong. Fireflash acts like a radar guided missile while something is being tracked by the radar rangefinder.
It is beam riding, not semi-active radar homing. It uses a radar beam from your plane to center it self in front of you

Tried 4 missiles and they followed the nose of my plane instead of the jet on my radar
You’re doing it wrong or lying because I have just been doing it and it tracked fine every time.
Dont know what else to tell you. Got the jet on my radar, moved my nose a little to the right while keeping them on my radar and fired. Missile kept in front of my nose rather than follow the jet on radar

It only causes it to lose control if you aren’t painting something with the rangefinder and don’t keep it painted.
Because it the rangefinder picks up the missile and the missile tries to track itself and spazzes out.
Maybe that only works at the higher alts. In any case, i would still use the non-radar method as it seems more reliable
Nah using the lock method is much better since you mainly use them in head-ons since nobody else has radar missiles at that BR. It allows you to manoeuvre out of enemy fire whilst still guiding the missile into them.
Just use mouse aim, dont try with the radar.
