I started playing war thunder again last week but when I logged into my game today I was surprised by the warning that I was banned from chat for 2 days after player reports yesterday I received another alert about player reports which I’m not understanding is that I don’t use the chat for anything and now I’m discouraged from continuing to play.

No users on forum can help you out with this (and a mod will probably close the thread as you’re not allowed to discuss bans).
You can send a PM to one of the game masters on here to enquire into it, but tbh, if it’s only two days, and you say you don’t use chat anyway, shouldn’t be too hard to just wait it out and resume as normal when it ends.

I understand, I posted here because this had never happened to me and I didn’t know where to look for help with this problem and also because I was scared because as I said, I don’t use chat for anything and this is the second time I was banned (now for 2 days) in a week, but thanks for the help.

You dont get banned for no reason. You must of used chat/pm to say stuff.
Have to keep it more family friendly as this is techically a kids game

Chat reports send YOUR chat log to the mods who review it. If you were banned, you were saying stuff you shouldnt. Everyone is innocent, always, 100% right? I have been around since 2014… I have had a few chat bans… and they have, in fact, been for reasons. They dont just log in and do a lottery to choose “This player gets a chat ban today”. And for it to be a 2 day, you said either something bad enough to warrant it or had multiple instances of behavior problems in chat.

2 days is the lowest one can get for a first chat ban, so it was not something terribly bad. But: No swearing in chat is allowed.
One needs to chat to get a chat ban, as has correctly been stated. We’ve got eough to do with the reports we get and don’t need to invent reasons for chat bans. There’s no quota to fill or so… ;-)

Best to be on your most civil and good behavior, use the chat as if you were speaking to your grandparents or are in church.
What may be innocuous or acceptable to you may trigger a melt down in someone else.
There is not a lot of use for chat in the game unless you are squadded and in that case it is better to be linked together in a separate chat media through headphones and mics.
Suck up the ban and move on.
I didn’t look at them - I was looking for the last ones before he took his supposed break - but there was no break, so no hint as to where to start looking.
Haha, that may be a bit exagerated: Chat as if you’d talk to a random stranger on the road. Speak in a way that you yourself wouldn’t go “what’s wrong with him” when spoken to like this by a stranger, or overhear a conversation between strangers.
What has it come to if we need to explain how to talk without being offensive, eh? ;-)
