HVAP: Because Who Needs Confidence Anyway?

I watched 120 HVAP rounds slam into a 10mm shrapnel protection plate like a metal hurricane. It sparked. It smoked. But it survived. Not even a dent—just mild embarrassment. I didn’t break armor. I broke my own spirit. High Velocity Armor-Piercing, they said. All I saw was High Velocity disappointment.

I sat in my chair, stunned—staring blankly at the screen, trying to process how a glorified sheet of steel shrugged off an entire magazine like it was rain on a windshield. And then, slowly, inevitably, the enemy turret began to turn. The 88 mm cannon rotated with the calm, deliberate grace of a judge preparing to pass sentence. And it stared straight into my soul.

I didn’t run. I didn’t fight. I accepted my fate. Because really, if I can’t even scratch sheet metal with a full belt of so-called “armor-piercing,” what’s the point in trying again?

“Crew knocked out.”

And in the silence that followed, I realized something deeply profound: it wasn’t just the round that failed.
It was hope and confidence itself.

So here I sit, writing this not out of rage, but out of sheer disbelief. Hoping to make someone laugh at the absurdity. You know how broken HVAP and APCR are. Maybe one day they’ll get fixed. Maybe.
Until then, let this tale serve as both a warning and a small gift: a smile, a sigh, or maybe just that moment of shared understanding between two players who’ve both watched tungsten bounce off tin.
