Huge problem with nukes/aircraft dying on airfield/spawn

There is a huge problem that has NOT been addressed by the developers at gaijin at all because the playerbase does not matter to them, only to what they need is more comfortable. Nukes are getting spawnkilled because airfield aa is way too weak + no friendly air.

It is completely absurd to me that toptier airfield AA still relies on guns from over 8 DECADES ago, almost a century old, which, in air rb this isnt an issue since the airfield does have missile defense, not the best, but in ground? Nope. Don’t care. Best you can do is a gun from the second world war while players have Anti-air defense capabilities from a decade or two ago/ recent tech.

Playing a game in Campania where I got a nuke in a very vital moment, My team was losing, 1/3 of the tickets were left, and when i call in my nuke, its only to die (not exaggerating ) 20 seconds spawning in, and where was the killer you may ask?

not even 3 miles from my airfield. I Was barely even airborne. picture below

The “Air defense” in question trying to kill a rafaele

If the devs even look at the forums. Realize one of the biggest issues in toptier now is that airfields need better air defense. Even when flying regular jets, spawnkilling people is easier than ever, from both sides, and the guns are very ineffective. Stop abandoning your game and please add a fix to this

The problem with it is that if i was flying towards the battlefield, and died, it would still suck, but its an acceptable death, fair and deserved, but on spawn is ridiculous. Has a developer even played their game let alone drop a nuke?

i fully agree AA at top tier is really bad.
they could add very advance AA systems like S-300 Russia / IR-ST for nato / and HQ-9 for china but they need to find a way people don’t camp AF
as example maybe if you camp af for 1min AA stop working and there is a cool down.

They should just make the airfield aa in ground the same as air rb

the airfields in grb are too close to the battlefield 80% of the time so if you increase the range of the airfield AA it will start shooting at planes that have barely crossed over the battlefield

Counter point: You barely have to leave the runway to launch glide bombs, let alone KH-38s.
I’m not against improving the SPAAs but the airfields would also need to be moved back far enough to allow CAP to engage the CAS before they can start firing on ground targets.

If a developer ever played their game latly, we would be happy.

They should make the airfield spawn invisible on the enemy map, and locate the airfield dynamically across the friendly side.

what would change if the Rafale hit you from 10km away with the FOX-3? Them nuke jets still cant perform any against modern ammnition.

What we need to do, and I say ‘we’ because I’m guilty of this, is not jumping in the nuke bomber as soon as we get the spawn points. Take the time to look around… are the skies clear? Is enemy SPAA going to be a problem? Are there friendly fighters up? (Though, last night a friendly fighter ignored the enemy fighters coming for my nuke bomber, so I digress).

Yeah I love chasing an enemy prop for 10 seconds away from the battlefield and it immediately starta engaging me.

For a second i thought i was in a Tiger_Tank_1 thread.

Going into a nuke should always have its risks. You shouldnt have a safe zone in GRB maps that are already miniscule in size. Additionally adding ARB Itos to GRB would make strategies like airfield Kh38ML/MLE slinging without any sufficient counterplay as youd have a roughly 12km death zone where no plane could enter. Funnily enough the rough average distance between airfield and battlefield is ~14 km on average, so that would be basically gone. Not much would change with rolands, they would be worse but dodging AI aim assisted rolands while dogfighting in GRB would be just dumb.
GRB airfield protection rn is fine. If you bait an enemy plane to rush airfield theres a pretty good chance they will get either damaged or die. Plus its even more probable if you bait enemy jet to dogfight over the airfield. So just play smart. Even small amount of damage from the airfield AI can make their FM much worse.

As to your skill issue with nukes, maybe dont spawn the nuke plane when there is an active enemy CAP/CAS plane flying around? Spawning a nuke should not be a guaranteed win. Ive had a lot of matches where we were losing, enemy top fragger spawned nuke, it died and eventually we were able to turn it around and win which was honestly a lot of fun. Adding any type of missile air defense to GRB airfields not only limits playable area but also buffs annoying types of gameplay.

The solution to your problem is to either spawn nuke plane and risk it for the biscuit or dont spawn nuke plane until enemy plane has been dealt with.

Another thing to add is that the OP most likely has no situational awareness. Magic 2s are very obvious when they are off the rails unless there is major fog/clouds. People expect their vehicles to be unkillable and rage when they die to a legit counter.

Airfields need to be pushed back all the way to the edge of maps and have Rolands or OSA defend them. Or make all nuke planes have air-spawns with some initial speed. Having to take off at top tier is simply impossible if the enemy team has a single plane up.

The range of missile defenses would be too great to not cause a disruption to normal CAS activity. So either firing ranges are capped at, say, 3km, or airfield using mostly gun SPAA like Gepard and M247; actually, both are possible.
