The fire control system on the HSTV-L is broken. On the HSTV-L, the commander’s and gunner’s controls are duplicated. Therefore, if one of the controls is lost or a crew member dies, we should be able to continue firing without the need for repairs. However, in the game, if the commander’s fire control system is lost, we lose the ability to aim and shoot. What is the reason for this mechanic, or is it a bug?

The FCS is treated as one unit despite being in two places. It’s just another case of Gaijin half baking something
I agree with this, but the HSTV-L has a difference from all the other cars. If you hover over the FCS of other cars in the game, they will be displayed as a single module, but the FCS modules on the HSTV-L look like separate modules.
I think the developer simply forgot to configure the FCS correctly.
They intentionally nerfed it cause it’s a U.S. toptier vehicle.
In fact, the HSTV-L is better than Abrams, but it is already significantly weakened in the game. His mobility is reduced (Both forward and backward), there is no hydropneumatic suspension (junk, but still), there is another gun (ARES cannon was installed in the original), there is a 1st generation thermal imager, there was a more penetrating projectile. I don’t think Gaijin specifically set up FCS this way, but just gave their game to freelancers as always.I have not seen the problem with FCS raised anywhere, so I want to draw attention to the obvious flaw in the game.
bug maybe
But i think FCS should not disable firing and aiming at all
I agree. In real life, tanks have duplicate mechanical guidance methods (which is already implemented in the game when the engine is turned off and the battery is discharged)
But due to a flaw in this mechanic, the efficiency of the HSTV-L suffers greatly. And this is all despite the fact that the HSTV-L can only show good results if played correctly.
