Been a hot minute sense it was added and havn’t heard anything bout it sense. It still around? removed? any actual use?
I forgot it was even a thing they added
I say no. It used to be on the gaijin market page when it was available. It was removed shortly after the 2nd run I believe. I think it made players more angry than happy. It generated some shock when participants started shelling out money for simple items. I think there was a golden dragon portrait lining and some camo. I cant remember what else.
Rumors of possibly adding vehicles to the auction got many upset. I’d say that’s what killed the auction. It sort of disappeared and not many remember how bad it got in the end. I think they limited the information available on the bids and bidders.
What made you think about the auction?
Just a random thought mainly. Usually things that piss off players are more or less added regardless. So I’m kinda surprised the snail let it die so easily lol.
sometimes I’m happy to be a console peasant and cut off from elements of this games monetization
The official page said the auction was experimental. Likely a safe way of backing out if it did not work out. It succeeded in functioning correctly at least. I don’t think gaijin nor many of the players expected bidders to go hog wild on such simple items. Do you remember the bids were going into the hundreds.
For real
iirc, they changed it from showing the highest bid to showing the lowest bid.
