Thats loaded question and one im not sure im qualified enough to answer. Warthunder would need to change from ground up, starting with maps and gamemodes.
Warthunders balancing is all over the place as it is now, moreso with proposed “national bonuses”.
Should they be added as some sort of standalone mode with its own queue similiar to World War, ie. strategic map and what not? Sure.
For ordinary quickmatch tho? another layer of complexity for no real added benefit other than just because.
You’re another who uses that term, and I really don’t think it applies as they are asking directly what you think could change a match, in any way, to make things better.
On this angle alone, I’ve ALWAYS wanted overtime. So many matches are so tight that it’s actually a few more seconds and it would’ve been a different outcome. Even if there was a time/tickets added to add another 5 or 10 mins on the match.
I enjoy KRABB_NATION’s custom games with similar-ish buffs/rules, it’d be cool as a rotating official event centered around historical or alt-historical scenarios.
The idea is nice but I feel like it would need work.
The UK ability is the major stick out, how would you decide where the airstrike takes place, who controls it? Also once you get above 3.0 where tanks become less vulnerable to smaller bombs and spaa/fighters become more potent, the already slow swordfish (regardless of its mark 1 or 2) would probably fail to do anything.
Same with Japan, what planes as well?
I would probably swap out at least one of the aircraft buffs for reduced fighter plane sp costs.
Also what would France, Italy, China, Sweden and Israel get?
jk lol. But anyhow, these were just quick examples to get the general idea across. Would you have any recommendations/ideas for any of these national buffs?
I was potentially thinking the UK aircraft could still use the bombing run but it’s much smaller (1-4 depending on aircraft) and depending on br and points (similar to air arcade air battles), that’s the aircraft used (including Swordfish, Hampden, Firefly, Brigand, Mosquito for light attack and Canberra, Shackleton, Lincoln, Wellington, Lancaster and Buccaneer for heavier attacks).
For Japan, probably just a flat sp drop for fighters which ideally more significant than the USA buff but it wouldn’t apply to strike or bomber aircraft to balance it out.
Maybe Italy gets reduced so cost for light vehicles?
This is simply stereotyping of nations’ militaries. It’s unhistorical, and cliche. If an asymmetrical mode were to be designed, realism would need to be an essential element for most players to even consider such a mode.
It is loaded question in regards to proposed “national bonuses” or even deepening the asymmetrical aspect of the game in general. Way I see it, there would need to be several changes at once in order to introduce these “national bonuses” without breaking the game.
Unless, of course, hes asking what could be changed about game in general and not neccesarily in relation to the “national bonuses” or asymmetrical aspect.
