Basically, When it comes to the br’s, Some people say that theres not enough of them. Others say that expanding them too much would lead to players facing the same vehicle with no diversity.
What are your thoughts when it comes to br’s? Should the be increased? decreased? Should there be a specific change to the br system like hard blocks?
(Think of it like putting a barrier between say 9.7 and 10.0. 9.7 would be the top tier for the lower bracket, while 10.0 would be the new starting tier for the upper bracket.)
(We’ll just go by with air RB for now to make it easier, We can discuss other br’s below tho)
14.0 so it’s more akin to air. Not too much decompression.
1 whole BR going towards a huge ww2 and post war gap so 7.7 heavies like IS-4, T32E1, Maus from MBTs (t-54, leopard 1 and early APFSDS vehicles) to 8.7 or 9.0. Post war low tier vehicles should also go up in BR.
The rest probably to separate KVs from Tigers slightly more and idk figure out the last 0.3. Probably helping separate stabilizers from unstabilized MBTs.
I still think a solution that should be explored is just reducing the MM from +/- 1.0 to +/- 0.7. It would have largely the same effect as decompression, across every single BR and gamemode, almost instantly, and for the most part… Would probably be 80% of the decompression actually required.
If that isnt an option then, a decompression is certainly required but I dont think as much is required as people usually claim, and they have some unreasonable expectations (such as fox-3 would only ever face fox-3, the reality, most of the high BR Fox-1 slingers are on par, if not maybe stronger than the early fox-3 slingers).
How I see what is required for decompression for air:
12.0-14.3 could do with an additional 1.0 BR, not just the 13.0-14.3 bracket, but imo, more importantly, the 12.0-13.0 bracket. Many 12.0s should simply never face some of the 12.7 and most of the 13.0s.
10.0-12.0 isnt too bad, but could certainly be spaced out a bit more, probably only really needs another 0.7ish worth of BR to be inserted in here. Allowing for some of the 10.3/10.7 stuff to be a little higher.
7.0-10.0 imo is the most compressed of all the BR ranges, and really needs a lot of fixes. So that would probably need at least 2.0 BRs to do properly
1.0-7.0 isnt too bad and I think msot consider it largely balanced, bar some of the top performing props vs those below. Probably wouldnt need more than 1.0 worth of BR, but given the size of the bracket. lets call it 2.0 more BR.
So that means, roughly speaking, I reckon we need the BR cap increased from 14.3 to about 20.0 for entire tree from reserve all the way up to top tier to be decompressed by a reasonable amount
Though I think it is also worth stating that a large amount of the compression issues we are seeing imo around 9.0-10.0 has been caused by Gaijin only decompressing 10.0+ last year. If/when they decompress the tree(s) again, they need to do the entire tree in one shot, and not do it in sections.
Imo, hard brackets are a bad idea. It means that something will always be downtiered and something will always be uptiered. So for example. if there was a barrier between 9.7 and 10.0. 9.7 would always see downtier and be very strong, whereas the 10.0 could only ever see uptiers and be notably weak.
Now a roaming BR bracket system, like we have in ASB, which I consider highly succesful, could also be used in RB, so that rather than random chance deciding whether you will be facing an uptier or downtier, you are informed before you hit play and can simply decide what line-up/vehicle you want to use prior to hititng play. In ASB, these brackets change every 2 days, but for RB, they could change as frequently as once an hour if needed.
I never understood this want by some to decompress top tier when even 10.7+ are still viable at 12.0. Compared to the rest of the BRs high tier has it easy.
Have you ever try playing the 2 leo 2a5 and a6? They both have worse armor and thermal compare to the PSO, 2A7V, 2A7HU. And not to mention 11.0 have to fight these thing, u telling me tank from the 80s fighting modern day tank is fine? If u do fine in them then cool, u do u but the issue is still there.
At a full uptier I think it’s fair. That’s just like the rest of the game. Sometimes you deal with uptiers so there can be downtiers. I can’t think of 11.0 MBTs off the top of my head but stuff like the russian ERA ones at 11.3+ and Japanese type 90s are still very competitive even at 12.0.
Also yes I’ve got the leos researched, I know what it’s like. They can still be good. The issue is just the maps that need you to brawl 90% of the time.
Hench why they are being moved to 11.7 which show us even more compression, the TKX (P) is gonna be at the same br but with better thermal and frontal turret armor, and at .3 BR above u get even better TKX and Type 10 but with 600+ pen round.
Point is that whole range is just gonna be hellhole the more and more Gaijin add stuff in and the thing that will suffer the most will be 11.0-11.7 and even some 12.0.
Yes they can be good but br should be determine by vehicle capability not how good u do in it (lol, big cope ik), sometimes it really does feel unfair fighting stuff like 2A7 or Strv 122 in your 2A5 or POS.
Tbf I do think 2a5 could go down a BR since it’s essentially the same as the PL or CA leos at 11.7.
2a7 and its adversaries could be 0.3 higher from the current top BR, but the capabilities of the top tier MBTs are pretty balanced least from my experience.
