ODLs are a serious issue, and ammount to passive play from me… Can’t report half a team in the match but seriously, this needs to be solved because so many times there’s only 16 tanks take the field, where there should literally be 40-50, without ANY trouble.
People are playing passively now with this ‘attitude’ that they can’t die, or that they’re moving on to the next match or WHATEVER…
It’s being a chicken and not putting a good attempt into the match.
They could run out in a BR 1.0 for thier first spawn and STILL have enough to spawn the premium/sole vehicle they spawn, but they choose not to.
I’m shocked right now … I use the battlepass Spz in 10.0 battles and it works great. But so many players are wasting their tanks and play like they could be unbeatable only to realize one moment later that they can die within a single shot. Many games get lost so fast … While I was fightin a T80 a Leopard 2 was just running away. Can’t believe it. Hightier could be so much fun …
You should see the faces of the guys when they got torn appart by a 6.7 light tank ^^
I really dont understand why someone would play a “broken” game…
Hyperbole is not good for discussion…game has issues, no doubt…but it is far from broken, otherwise i would not play it :)
Problem is a lot of players want to play “only the y game they WANT”. Assuming each player likes a different map, or some like planes and others don’t…if players leave when unhappy…NO MAP and NO MODE will have enough players…
It is rather simple…you have to play some modes/maps you dont like so much, so you have players on the maps you like.
I admit game could improve some maps and PROBABLY make a bigger effort to match players with what they want…but there is no hope in hell that the game would be possible to give everyone exactly what they want…
Honestly, I find your interpretation naive. People leave 99% because they just want to play their OP tank and because they are low tier.
Part of the problem is the amount of up tier you suffer and the low effort of the players.
There is no justification for missing half a team in the 3rd minute who only took out one tank. If they see it impossible to fix it they should do like the competition, one tank per game and that’s it.
Ranked Matches, and Unranked.
To classify for any Br you need at least 3 available tanks at the Br you want to play. For example 11, you need top tier unlocked for three slots.
It’d be an awful system that’d be hard to implement, and even make work and Gaijin wouldn’t do it, and it would make people quit, but thats the way.
Just make game mode where you play one tank, name it quick play or smth like that. Give for this mode smaller maps etc. most of them will go there then.
Never said the game was broken, I said the core game mechanics are totally broken/non existent. Maybe you been around to long and cannot see the game from a newer player perspective. I mean I could type for hours about the issues I faced still facing after reaching high tiers even.
One tame example would be the crew, which has a huge influence on the game. I am still at big disadvantage and have 0 expert crews still. This is a “core game mechanic”. It is unnecessarily hard to reach a level playing field for new players given the whole process along with fact this and every other core mechanic can be bypassed with cash.
Now I played Tarkov, Il2 and DCS for the last few years… I am all about hard games and in depth game mechanics. Not once have I complained in those games regarding said mechanics I in fact enjoyed the difficulty.
I won’t upset anyone by stating why I think War Thunder is setup how it is that should be all I need to say on that matter. What I will say is something drastic needs to change regarding such issues to attract a newer player base.
I will also add tanks are not the only game mode in this game… ODL is a bigger problem in Naval. Naval at this point is also slowly dyeing which no one has mentioned. At prime time in Naval currently we have two teams who consist of 50% of Gajins bots, between the two teams another 30%'ish of farming bots. Of the actual players many will ODL and several will quit upon loading into any of the maps with only zone A. Especially the encounter maps of which there are countless versions of what is basically the same map with different backgrounds.
If not careful Naval will die out as there is no decent games to be found at the highest tiers. It needs imo a removal of all encounter maps except one maybe so it comes up much less on the rotation… not constantly. All multi point maps available should be on the rotation…
On the subject simple moving and removal of some spawn locations would help to make Naval more fun. These are simple steps I think would keep people more interested in the short term.
In the long term it needs more maps desperately (more than any other game mode)… again 15 versions of the same circle map is something no one is clearly interested in playing, given the amount of insta quits whenever those maps load in.
