How we could balance the SRAAM and add it to higher tiers

The devs added it for Harrier GR.1 as it was tested on the company demonstration aircraft T.52, which itself was a T.2 base and used to test new weaponry to be offered on GR.1 and export Harriers. T.2s were a trainer version of the GR.1 and both were fully compatible with each other.

The intention for GR.1 to be armed with SRAAM before it was ultimately cancelled was clear from several medias:

Hence why the devs added it for that too. As Harrier T.52 was not planned and the cross compatability was confirmed.

I assume you refer to the image below? In that case are airshow and exhibition photos which showcase armament options still considered a valid source?

This is simply to show the connection with the source above, which clearly shows integration on the Harrier T.52.

Airshow loadouts can be considered if there is further evidence to show a clear connection or integration.

Cases where its not useful is when something has never been mounted and we dont know the pylon arrangements. Like AGM-65 laid next to Tornados for examples at shows.

Thanks for the clarification

I was curious about this topic, AGM-65 on AMX

I believe it’s different from the Tornado example as some of the photos show AGM-65 on pylon

Sure, but I doubt SRAAM was mounted on other aircraft like F-5s, which was the point of the original post.

It is one of those weapons where it doesn’t even need to be cleared to fire to use in wartime. Although it helps to test it, it is literally even said in the wiki article that it is a modular missile that can be put on anything

Smin himself is apparently reading this thread, ask him whenever that is good enough justification for the missile to be added to other airframes.

Good idea, I’m dumb today

For sure. There has never been anything to link it to the F-5 beyond the poster outline.

But could we get it though on something like the F4M and F4K? The missile wasn’t tested on anything but H.S. designed aircraft but the missile was made modular and could be fired from and aircraft as long as it has wiring for AAMs.

If its been mounted, then thats at least something for consideration. After that, it would he down to the devs to decide at their discretion.

The only other airframe SRAAM has even been near was Jaguar as far as im aware:

There isnt anything solid linking it to either of the Phantoms.

I would rather Skyflash SuperTEMP and AIM-9L on the Phantom anyway

Thank you though. I’ve read on the sub topic on the Secret Projects Forum that it was able to be carried by almost anything but even if it can only go on a Jag in-game, that would help a lot

Its okay, after a few weeks, the people playing the F.6 will die down and you’ll go back to seeing one or two per match again as barely anyone plays Britain for the sole reason its entire top tier outside of like 4 planes is painful to play. But AT LEAST with the SRAAMs finally getting a buff, Britain now has something Competitive at 9.7, the Harrier GR.1 is now actually a viable premium to buy, and the Hunter F.6 isn’t just DoA because its a 9.3 plane that sits at 9.7 because it has strong missiles.

Don’t come with me with an Excellent gun platform, most planes at its BR out turn it and are faster than it, and right now with cannons being a buggy mess, the one thing the Hunter F.6 had going for it after it expends its missiles (two free kills on average) is now pointless as the Adens hit with the effectiveness of a foam ball.

And go at the speed of a baby throwing the foam ball into 100km/h oncoming wind

Technically I think that’s Taildog though.

Taildog was part of the earlier development but the official name was changed to SRAAM

Hopefully some more material arises, as that could be interesting for the Sea Vixen. However potentially very problematic BR wise.

I’m working on a suggestion for an upgraded Swordfish that might be able to carry SRAAM or ASRAAM
