How to use the rangefinder on the Su-22M3?

I recently bought a Su-22M3 and do not understand how to use this radar rangefinder, maybe someone knows how to use it?

Radar-rangefinders in general are not very useful in Air RB. All they do is provide ranging information to automatically zero-in the cockpit gunsight, and I don’t even think that functionality really works in game that well

even more useless, you can effectively ignore the radar-rangefinder entirely
