Not true, I love playing CAP/CAS. And I don’t use any overpowered CAS (mainly GBUs, KGGBs and Mavericks)

The new AA’s only issue is imbalance and close range. Some countries AA can’t perform well or are broken and all the new AA (minus CS/SA5) struggle at close range- something that can be mitigated with any HE-VT user or one of the many SPAAG.

And the Kh-38 is also still an issue.

Reduce the matchmaker spread to 0.3 and it’ll be fine to play :)

I dont think there are many problems really.
Most of the problems are at high tier and I dont play it that much.

I think biggest problems are lack of SUITABLE maps and stagnant air rb.
If these issues are resolved I would be happy.

Yea, maps and missions/modes/AI bots to push off-screen objectives. It was always good seeing Advance to Rhine having the little AI tank battle off the edge of the playable map.

On a separate note, I have not seen the Berlin map in a long time now.
You know the one with the Reichstag

That got updated a bit last time, I see it more at the 4.0-4.7 maybe. That’s on GRB that is.

As to the topic…the OP set the tone in reverse of the title (focus on negative)…so it turned into another topic where each player rants about his personal complaint…got almost all the usual “suspects”…bias, uptiers, maps, CAS, etc…

Introducing the tank-only mode would improve the game a lot. More freedom of choice, happier players.

Quality of Life:
- Actioning more bug reports. No leaving reports 10+ years without being actioned. Actually forward through bug reports, so many go unactioned - neither closed or forwarded.

- Decompression. If the air tree goes up to 14.0 then do the same for tanks. Actually use that space to make uptiers more bearable.

- SPAA/CAS. We need more mid-tier SPAA’s to fill in massive gaps some nations have. CAS should have separate BR’s in ground and air battles, just like how vehicles can have separate BR’s in arcade/realistic/simulator.

- Make spawns in Ground battles work like cap points: Fairly simple premise, you should be able to restore ammo, activate crew replenishment, etc just like cap zones. It would also be nice if the spawn uniquely had the option to swap out to another vehicle without holding J. It could give you back 50% of your spawn cost. That way if the enemy have a lot of aircraft up and you’re near base you can respawn in an SPAA or your own plane. Would be super helpful in 1 capture point maps.

- Battle Pass and Event Missions: These should always be available during the Battle Pass/Event timeframe. Allowing players to either complete them over multiple sessions or even in one session if they’re crazy enough. I play a ton of games with these kind of special events & battle passes and have never seen one as restrictive as Warthunders. For the Battle Pass missions specifically there should also be an option to reroll ones for different game modes, some players don’t play ground, air, or naval. Just add an SL and then a GE cost like rerolling regular missions.

- Vehicles that share the same ammunition shouldn’t have to research it again: Much like how WoT does it for shared modules, WT should do it with ammunition. Stock vehicles are incredibly frustrating to play, especially at top tiers.

Economy:
- Boosters: Should never expire until activated. If a player does their daily bonus before work every weekday and then plays on the weekend they should have the entire weeks worth of boosters available to them. We see this all the time, players love to maintain their login streak but often don’t have time to actually play. Some of us work full-time, some of us have families, some of us have other commitments, etc. This lets players feel more rewarded when they actually get a chance to have a session because now they can make the most of that time. There’s already a system in place that reduces stacking modifiers, why is it an issue to keep a hold of boosters?

- Test-drives: Same as boosters, should never expire. If someone gets a test-drive let us use it when we have the time to play.

- Battle Trophy Discounts: Should be stackable like boosters, with similar reducing modifiers the more you activate at one time. With a cap of 75%. This eliminates the player frustration of rolling the same discount multiple times in a row. Can we also have better quality control for receiving discounts to vehicles that were recently removed from sale? You should never get a discount for a vehicle you literally cannot buy.

- Orders: If you don’t complete the order, but one of your teammates does then you get a Teamwork award. Not a huge difference but at least you get 600 SL out of it instead of nothing. Which might give some incentive for players to actually use them. Just to clarify we’re not getting rid of the squad kills section, we’re simply adding an additional method of getting this award.

- Skill RP Bonus: Should be based off score and not kills. WT is an objective based game and players actually playing the objectives should be rewarded. It’s not really fair that someone that is actively capping points, scouting targets, and disabling enemies for allies to kill then gets no additional skill bonus.

- Percentage Repair Discount When Spawning Multiple Vehicles: You should get a progressively higher repair discount depending on how many vehicles you spawn in a mission. IE: 1 vehicle no discount, 2 vehicles 5% overall repair discount, 3 vehicles 10% overall repair discount, etc. This incentivises people to keep playing the mission instead of leaving.

- Ace Crew RP Requirements: Need to be reduced, they go into the millions on high tier vehicles and premiums are even worse. To give a example the A1E1 Independent at 1.3 has a 380,000 RP requirement to get a free Ace Crew.

Tbh there’s so much to say… The economy system is really flawed and makes the grind very frustrating. The game is overall very repetitive and needs a gamemodes rework with new objectives. New types of vehicles to bring new gameplays would be nice as well. And of course, the most important to my eyes, bugfixing. The game is incredibly buggy and laggy, and I’d rather have Gaijin fix all that mess even if that means less vehicles per updates.

I’d add as well, they focus too much on premiums to my taste. I understand that they need money and stuff, but seeing half of the vehicles implemented being behind a paywall is just frustrating

Personally, id like to see a quality of life update rather than adding anything new in an update. Only example i think of is the Operation Health update in R6S years ago where for three months they soley focused on fixing issues with the things ingame without adding anything new.

Recently war thunder has just become less and less enjoyable with the endless issues, going from the massive cheater issue in wt, servers being horrific with the netcode, one death leavers (whether its through premium one lifers or just rage quitting) making the game just not as enjoyable and an economy that just . (not commenting on cheater issue as that is a much more complicated issue)

Id like to see an update where they specifically address bug reports and soley focus on legitimate issues raised by the community. You look on the bug report website and there are ones that are years old and have been shown as a bug by the team yet still nothing has been actioned.

Then there is the massive inconsistencies with missile/gun damage and missile tracking, whether it is just gaijin not liking some countries or as said before the netcode of servers just not making them act correctly. For example recently i put a shot through front of a tank, skips straight through and leaves everything in the middile completely intact and then damages the engine.

It would be nice for Gaijin to once at least address the issues instead of focusing on copy paste premium/tech tree vehicles and address the issues that the community actually raise, whether it be through bug reports or forums.

Well this topic failed. People coming in under the assumption they can’t do anything against CAS, while they probably don’t have a single SPAA in their lineup, if they even have a lineup at all. Hey, here is how to improve War Thunder: Have a freakin’ lineup that will cover each circumstance of battle you’ll find yourself.
