Is there any way to use the second cannon on the BMPT? I don’t mean to use it at the same time as the other one, just as a way to quickly alternate between the two ammo belts?

I don’t think it works right now. You can choose the belt but it’s only for the right gun.
It was mentioned on RU stream I think, by switching to different belt it will fire from second gun, but this feature is not yet finished, so… yeah

It was said (on RU stream) fire control is incapable of this, so… unfortunately yeah. Which is, honestly, stupid. It got two cannons to help with air targets IIRC, so it had to be able to fire from both, otherwise a single 2A42 (or 2A72) with double feed (like original BMPT prototype) would be more than enough for it needs, but here we are, with zero information if it even can do that 'cause all videos it fires from one because thats how military use it as of now

The problem is most videos (which being posted here) show exactly one gun firing (and throwing spend cartridges from the front and back). It have a perfectly logical explanation for why (the same “one gun loaded with HE, another AP and you dont need both most of the time”), but logic and Snail does not go hand in hand most times
? All the ones I’ve seen have both weapons firing.
Simultaneously? Thats the main thing. Ofc both can fire, but in the same time? (On firing in terms)
Oh, I meant one after the other in quick succession, not both firing at the exact same time.
I mean, it still counts as “both firing”, no? Still, dont think I saw a video of this posted here, it always one gun firing and throw casings everywhere

From some sources, which I will find again, it suggests the capability is there but generally isn’t because it’s less accurate also because ammunition needed at the time.

Yeah, pretty much that I saying - not firing from both IRL have a perfectly reasonable and logical explanation, the problem comes to actually getting proper hard info on it being possible and throw that at tech mods while we pray to the Machine Spirit
I think they’re trying to get some BMPT operator so irritated that they’ll send confidential vehicle information haha
