How to balance rafale, it's not looking good

In real life, the rafale should have varies tweaks before the plane is officialy launched. Firstly, the rafale and the typhoon should have almost identical turn rates, although the typhoon should be slightly better, at the moment it is significantly inaccurate. Secondly, the rafale can carry up to 14 air to air missiles, and currently in the game it only carries 6 which is insanely low. I definitely do not think it should carry 14 missiles but I think 10-8 would be significantly more reasonable. The rafale can also carry flare pods, and although it does not have an airbrake, the canards and elevons can function as a variable airbrake. I also think it should be able to carry magic twos. From a game balancing standpoint and from a historical standpoint these changes are VERY needed. I understand this may make the jet overpowered, so I suggest making the flare pods take up one or two ARH missiles. I also think that since the airbrake is a crucial part of dogfighting, the rafale variable airbrake should be less effective than other air breaks in the game. From a game balancing standpoint, I think the rafale should be slower but more maneuverable than the typhoon, combining with the shorter range chaffable micas and addition of magic twos would make it follow the play style of the rest of the french tech tree with the close range brawler type gameplay, with the less effective airbrake acting as a balancer to the otherwise great stats of the rafale.

jokes aside i doubt the Rafale will come into the game like it is in the Dev Server, as it is probably unfinished.

At the moment, treat both the Rafale and Typhoon FMs as WIP. wait for live before worrying too much about their performance

You will need to provide a source for that, Some variants of the Rafale can carry 8, but the variant in game so far has been confirmed to only have 6

these would need to be reported if they are missing

As it stands, this is likely a game limiation. Was a major push with the Gripen to get this functionality added but it never did.

This would likely require a bug report if evidence it can carry them can be found.But loadouts are subject to change on the dev server.

Sources? I googled how many it can carry and the first website said 14 😭 I have no idea what I’m talking about this is just my impressions so far

if it only can use 6 how about it will be around 13.3 not 13.7 ,6 missiles at 13.7 is criminal work against france

You do know the Gripen only has 6x missiles and has been at 13.7 since the decompression.

Rafale’s FM is likely a massive WIP, so I wouldnt worry about that at the moment, you then have an AESA radar and 6x of the best ARH dogfighting missiles in game. (which are underperforming as well)

The rafale, is definetly top tier worthy.

I do know it apparently should have more flares and chaff, but I don’t have documents for anything
final total should be like 64 flares and 256 chaff if I remember correctly; which would be very sufficent for WT as it currently is, I am hoping there is a bug report on it alr

current BOL performance is around 1/4 it should be, if not lower. So in reality its more like 80 LCMs and 120-160 CMs due to the amount you need to spam off.

Rafale should beat the Gripen rather easily in a turn fight.

That would put it on par with other top tier jets quite nicely. In the Typhoon i’m running 64 LCM flares and 320 chaff. so its not far off

To be fair the amount of CM on each plane are quite a mess: every F-16 are wrong, the j10a has 72 LCM while the model shows 18 LCM +36 Small CM

On the topic of the missile amount: I never saw a rafale equipped with more than 8 missile. 8 being with the option that France bought only since the F4.1 standard (it was available before but for cost saving we did not buy them)

Based on the HMD being added on the F3-R (only bought with F4.1 too)and the 2000-5f being able to carry 8 missile it would arguably fair to ask for the 8 missile configuration on this F3-R

The absolutely lovely devs have decided the way Rafale lost airspeed cannot function in reality because physics I guess so we won’t even be getting Rafale’s equivalent to an airbrake on top of the other issues

So because Rafale has a bug with drag that’ll be fixed, it’s bad? lol
It has a fine amount of MICA EMs, same amount as Mirage 20005F.
Its engines are correct.

And despite the drag penalty, the time to climb adjusted for Typhoon’s fuel consumption is 2 minutes 30 seconds to mach 1.5, and 1 minutes 20 to 10,000 meters.

So F-16s to 13.3? lol

The J-10 model shows 4 flare buckets which is 72 large caliber countermeasures, or 36 HUGE countermeasures which Gaijin doesn’t have in-game.

Only the F-16A MLU in China is wrong as it should have 90 countermeasures and only has 60.

I do wish that gaijin would test the IR MICA, even using a severely handicalled IRCM, compareable to the R-27ET or even worse

They could do it similarly to the R73 at the beginning which was removed when added to the live server

All F-16A (except MLU ) are modelled with 15 high caliber + 30 small. (On their 3D model)

But they all have 60 small (or 120 on the AM)
By the way the release kinematics on belgian F-16A is weird

When it comes to F-16C/D it’s a bit better better there’s still issues on the number and the caliber
