How should Nizh ERA be perfroming by its self?

Im just wondering what people think how the ERA should actually be performing cause right now it is underperforming.

If you’re referring to the Nizh era on the oplot, it’s severely underperforming. Those on the hull can be penned everywhere while the turret is mostly protected. Also those on the hull have so many gaps modeled for darts to slip easily through. Meanwhile the T-90’s hull ERA is modeled as one brick wall so hitting the edges of the ERA does nothing. I honestly expected the oplot’s hull ERA to perform the same as those like the T-90. Even the side ERA doesn’t spin the sabot rounds like it should.

Ya i noticed that and isnt the Nizh ERA blocks supposed to be actually a bit larger?

Plus its also missing a layer of RHA i think.

I’d expect so, if Gaijin modeled this accurately, idk which tank engineer thought this was a good idea to make ERA so small. My main point is that the Oplot’s ERA was made to match today’s standard of ERA. Gaijin disagrees apparantly.

its gun’s vertical transverse is nerfed by alot too. And still missing a block of ERA in front of the autoloader.**

That is also very true. Do you think the Nizh should protect by itself at 160-180 mm against apfds?

ooooohhhh I’m not sure about exact numbers. I have seen visual sources showing the duplet being able to slice APFSDS rounds. It should be able to provide the same kinetic protection as other top tier ERA.

Im just hoping it does get buffed so duplet really good and so that nizh by itself is also good if more ukrainian vehicles get added that might only have one layer of ERA.
