I’m still relatively new to the new top tier Air RB meta with Fox-3’s, as the last meta I played a decent bit in was the IRCCM meta and when the F15A released.
In an attempt to get into this meta, I researched and played a decent bit of the F15 MSIP II, which while it had good missiles and a good radar, I could not stand it’s very sluggish high speed maneuverability. So I ditched that.
Right now, I am actively researching the Su27SM and am currently trying to go all the way up to the Su-30M2 and need a good rank 8 plane to finish the grind.
Can it hold its own today at 13.7?
And a little side question, is Russia even worth grinding top tier air right now or should I stick with Germany / France / U.S

US is not looking too good right now. From what i have heard SU-30SM2 is a very good plane, I think you should probably stick to Russia for now. After getting SU-30SM2 and you don’t like it, then you can probably shift to another nation :)

Oh really? I remember when it was released people said it wasn’t very good (specifically the R77’s and its radar.)

radar is pretty weak still, but the way the fox 3 meta has evolved from the release of seek and destroy. Missile maneuverability and high off boresight targeting is preferred now over missiles with long range since people have learned to notch effectively. So the strategy is just to get close to people and shot them so they dont have time to notch.
Also the Su-27SM has received a very strong engine buff making it very fast and all flankers getting a flight model buff some time ago
