You already have that option. You just needa learn to properly counter CAS.
Which requires aircraft because spaa is historically impotent against CAS that doesnt judt fly in flat circles at a low speed on deck.
Which i have zero desires of doing.
Or just don’t camp in one spot whole game.
We are talking ww2 tanks - including open top tank destroyers with minimal monility and no real armour - not go-karts. Doctrinal usage is to find a nice hill or forest, take a shot then scoot a little bit to the next hill nearny and shoot again.
Things the arcade like markers kind of sabotage for one and for two the maps arent big enough for proper tank movement.
The only time i played a map big enough to properly use tanks was when Krabb_nation and wingalingdragon glued fields of normandy and normandy town together and added some more map to it and used sim rules.
In that context ww2 cas was reasonable at last.
Real world doctrine doesn’t apply to Warthunder. The best way to get lots of kills and avoid CAS is just stay on the move. All my 5-10+ kill Kv-7 games happened that way.
I can’t exactly do run and gun with a tank that takes 18-16 seconds to reload and avoid being killed by faster tanks with a faster reload speed while avoiding CAS at the same time, because at that point I might was well click the return to hangar button.
Two solutions.
Either A. Accept that CAS is a hard counter to take like the Jadgtiger and Nashorn.
Or B. Just don’t play tanks like the Jadgtiger and Nashorn.
Then they should remove those tanks from the game since they clearly don’t fit the vision of the game anymore.
Maybe folder em at most. Plenty of players enjoy em. Imo the Waffentrager is pretty cool.
It’s almost like SPAA at that BR should not sit in spawn, rather move up with their team in order to provide cover
you forgot the third option
C. Complain on the forum and continue to die anyway.
Ah yes, wanting to play tanks is bad and you shouldn’t use tanks because planes who have their own dedicated game mode say so.
ASB exists if you want to win by CAS too, so there’s no excuse.
i get that skill can be a cause of the problem but i think the bigger problem is that there are maps where leaving spawn is dumb as a spaa.
there are some maps where there is no cover or concealment outside of spawn so actually using the strats become just plain detrimental
I agree that map design is a major contributor, however most maps do have space to move, and CAS haters aren’t complaining that those few which don’t are bad, they’re complaining that all CAS is OP and needs blankets nerfs.
The map already is annoying enough for spaa players in rank 7-8 battles. I can only calculate the op team is already left and remains are stuck on spaa with no defence against any ground verhicles. Your explaination don’t make any sense.
its already been completely nerfed. SP cost is 2x more than it was, you dont have a second spawn attacker anymore. SPAA is completely broken and still 12.0 for some reason, what else can be nerfed on CAS?
I saw some guys a while back saying Ocelot should be 6.7, so I guess we could do that lol.
Are they in room with us?
I wonder where is the
How player skill with CAS downplays the CAS problem
thread.
Because skill doesn’t downplay the CAS problem, it makes it seem bigger than it is.
