The reason has been stated time and again in multiple threads: some people want to play tanks in the tank mode and ships in the ship mode. Yet for some god awful reason, some people take offense to this fact and are immediately against it.
Two, actually. Or if need be, only one. I doubt the matchmaker would struggle all that much as a result, given nuclear thunder - as an example - is being (or already has been) re-added. Although the matchmaking spread is considerably tighter for that than the proposal.
That’s not an explanation of your logic. Just saying “I want it!!!” isn’t a valid reason to screw with the matchmaker.
No one’s taking “offense” to it, and it isn’t “god awful” for someone to challenge one of your ideas. It’s not the end of the world that someone disagrees with you.
There’s numerous actually valid reason against TO being added, such as:
It won’t fix CAS balancing, infact it will give Gajin a reason to ignore CAS balancing.
It will screw up the matchmaker.
It will set a bad precedent for players whining for features to be removed when they don’t want to learn how to properly counter certain features.
Those are all better counterarguments than “I want it!!!”
And you think GAB and GSB aren’t gonna start whining for TO when GRB gets it? They will use the exact same argument as you, “GRB has it so we should too!” Oh, and you brought up a good point, naval exists too. That’s 5 additional gamemodes, at which point we’re just murdering naval and simulator.
Nuclear Thunder is a single gamemode for a single BR running limited time testing. It’s likely that Nuclear Thunder is going to replace ARB altogether.
But the features aren’t removed; Combined modes will still exist. The only true potential problem is these modes straight up die because the segregated modes may (read: highly unlikely) become more popular.
To a negligible degree if it’s only one mode.
This is a fair enough point but it’s not like they don’t already ignore it to begin with.
I mentioned Nuclear thunder has a far tighter matchmaking spread than the proposal. I am not so sure about it straight up replacing current air mode though.
Not that Naval is doing particularly well to begin with. I am not sure sim would change much though.
Players are only whining for TO to be removed because they can’t get CAS removed outright. The technicality that combined modes will still exist doesn’t change the fact that players are complaining to have features removed.
Either TO will get no players and die, or it might get equal players and both modes will die until TO players return to combined.
It won’t be just one.
Gajin has not been ignoring it. There’s been dozens of CAS balance changes over the past year.
It’s very possible that 7.0+ will be nuclear thunder, whilst WW2 BRs keep their current system.
Matchmaking is on life support for both. We don’t need TO ruining them further.
Winter 26 top tier was screwed by bmpts. Shitton of soviets and no nato players so you had to wait several minutes for single battles. It also happens on sales but not so severe. Or when you form squad with contradicting nation combo like us + ussr at high tiers. But thats on player.
Top tier really ruins by CAS spam especially helicopters sitting on helipad can watch the entire battlefield. Like what do ground players need to do? spawn a SPAA, open radar then intercept their ammunitions by clicking the threats shows on the panel? you call that playing the game lmao might as well use scripts/cheats to play the game for you.
Ofc people have a bias against CAS… I’m playing ground mode to fight ground vehicles i shouldn’t have to play against planes… besieds, planes are clearly unhealthy for the game at every BR… i don’t get why people soly focus on top tier SPAAG-CAS balance… I’d argue it’s much worse at lower BRs especially now that the Pucara is a thing
I might have a skill issue but low tier SPAAGs simply cannot do anything against planes, most of the are open top and can’t react fast enough… they’re decent against tanks, some way too much, but that’s all. Granted i don’t really have top tier so i can’t really compare them but CAS is a problem everywhere that simply shouldn’t exist
There is no way for skill to affect SAM or AGM guidance. The only skill in CAS vs SAMs is positioning of the SAMs and defensive flying skill of the CAS
True. In low tier from 4.0 onwards, the balance heavily shifts towards aircraft because SPAA need to manually aim AND detect aircraft. The engine off and glide trick being prevalent there also doesn’t help, given that detection range decreases with the azimuth scanned and SPAA rely on hearing to detect planes early.
I’m playing for the tanks. When i started playing no where it said I’d have to face aircrafts.
Which i still do even tho i shouldn’t. Air battles doesn’t allow player SPAAGs i do see why planes should be im ground battles.
Doubt, and does not matter the plane will always have the edge over the SPAAGs. Player skill matters and i have no problem admitting that I’m not good when it comes to shooting down planes but saying it’s fair because they are on the same level is moronic and inaccurate at best.
