r27er does not beat aim120, aim120 is not useless, russia doesn’t dominate, bvr is still being done every match, wvr amraam still works until like within 4km

r27er does beat aim120 its much faster and turns better, and anyone who does BVR will realize that their aim120s dont hit anyone except lvl 8s in premium f18.

incorrect, being active means you can just notch instantly or go cold, r27er requires lock at least a decent % of the travel time including the last 10-20% of travel at least
this doesnt matter, its not an active missile

try flying a su30 with half 27er half 27et and try firing both at once at targets <16km and you will notice a kill is almost guaranteed while aim120 is easily countered.
yeah I wasnt born yesterday, this is still easily avoided if you aren’t letting people fire on you in the first place or just by notching/multipathing and flaring
my 120s have a high kill rate

literally not difficult, r27et has very weak irccm (about 66% as effective as r73) and is basically a 1 flare outside of 4km or rear aspect. R27ER is just R27ER, you’ve had to learn how to avoid it since 11.7 so if you haven’t figured it out by now it’s on you

yeah, people like the dude above think that r27er not being fox3 makes it completely useless when you have to notch aim120 but this has IOG, DL and can be relocked as many times as you want

Its highly situational. But there is an argument for both sides.
In a longer ranged joust the a true fox-3 can just be forgotten about but eventually an R-27ER slinger will need to turn hot again and re-acquire the lock.
But in shorter ranged shots or if the situation allows. Then R-27ERs can be very deadly. Like launching and guiding mostly by IOG to avoid any RWR pings until the last few seconds.
In the GR4 in SB where I can find myself against both Mig-29/Mig29Gs and F-4F ICEs within the same match though. I fear the Mig-29s far far more.

Nah… 4x R-73 + 2x R-27R was considered to be OP when the Mig-29 and F-16 were first added (they were right)
So instead it came with 4x R-60M + 2x R-27ER. as much as fighting R-27ERs sucked, especailly in BVR trucks like the F3. R-73s in that situation would have been worse.
But I wish they just hurried up and reset the Mig-29s weapons and made them historically accurate now its not an issue. Then adjust its BR to whatever is apporpriate
in SB r27e is probably the deadliest missile, especially if they fire both radar and ir version at you
radar one will trigger rwr ping which will atleast alert you but the IR + IRST is just almost certain death especially with how fast its going and that its basically unflarable at 5km rear aspect
