Could go down to 8.7, where the XM800T sits. Any lower than that might not be beneficial as it would fight heavier tanks like the T-10M and M103 constantly
Type 89 FV is great at its BR and great at higher BRs. I can see a reason for the Type 87 RCV moving down to 8.7, but Type 89 is good where it is.
Don’t even think its possible to give stabilizer, The 25mm takes up more space than a 20mm and is harder to maintain. This is a recon vehicle, you don’t need to be moving at high speeds and engaging at the same time.
8.7 is understandable for it. I’d lower the BR of the Type 87 rcv (P) tho. 61 mm of pen at 7.7 is pure suffering.
Definitely not. I find it better to uptier the RCV (P) to my 8.3 lineup instead of at 7.7 because it faces squishier targets. Moving it down will just end up with it facing more Late WW2 / Post WW2 tanks, meaning they’d be impossible to penetrate. 7.7 is a weird spot as if it goes down, it faces more all-round armoured targets but if it moves up then it faces targets with less all-round armour + more autocannons.
It constanly meets shit like m60, m48 and t95e1 which it cant do shit about. Id much rather play against braindead tiger players.

The mbt-70 is the tankiest shit ive ever encountered it tank shots it should never tank.
I’ve never had an issue w/ them, even when uptiering RCV (P) to 8.3. The only issue I face w/ RCV (P) at 8.3 is the IS series and other heavy tanks. Most early MBTs are easy to kill.
Yeaah basically my opinion, the RCV should go down to 8.7, it’s very situational compared to the Type 89 (an other lights).

Putting it at 8.7 will only make it worse it would consistently meet mauses and is-4s and there arent many tanks at exacly 10.0. Keep it at 9.0 but it does need a buff.
If it was moved down, what is stopping you from using it at your preferred BR?
This was posted when the missiles went straight to the ground (regardless how you elevated the launchers) & the APDS did absolutely nothing. Right now, the Type 89 is perfectly fine where it is, until Gajin messes up something again.
It’s real that the Type 87RCV was way funnier in 8.3, where it still is far from efficient against ealry cold war armor standard of Russian, US and chinese tanks.
Germany doctrine was not about armor, so yes it was and it should shred those armor, it’s a fact. But at 9.0, it can faces tank that have the same BR that are just better in every points (BTR-80AT, BTR3E1, BMD-4,…). And in a full uptier it can faces LAV-AD, Sprut SDM1 with 3BM60, Leo-2K, AMX-40… or other tanks less than a BR above with 20mm and armor.
8.7 or 8.3 should be way more normal.
And even there it will be overly killed by XM-800T I think.
