Greetings fellow War Thunder players,
Since the new Attica map was released, I thought that I would be able to provide a closer look at how historically accurate it really is of the true region within Greece. Attica has within it Athens, one of the world’s most historically significant cities, and was the site for several wars that were fought across time, such as WWII.

Real-Life Attica vs. War Thunder Map
Attica has mountains, coastlines, and cities like we do in-game. But is the map in-game a representation of real locations? It’s some generic stuff, and some of it appears to be small Greek villages. What are your thoughts? -
Attica in WWII Battles
Attica was a part of WWII when Nazi Germany invaded Greece.
The Greek Resistance fought guerrilla warfare against the German army, mainly in the countryside and the mountains.
The Germans also defended their positions inside Athens and the nearby key points in Attica.
Does this map show any of these historic battlefields? If so, which ones? -
Architecture & Environmental Accuracy
Does the in-game architecture look like real Greek architecture?
Are vegetation, terrain, and rocks accurate for Attica?
Could this map be associated with a specific town or battle? -
Was Attica appropriate for tank warfare?
As War Thunder is mainly a ground combat vehicle game, did you consider Attica to be a good candidate for a ground battles map? Was WWII combat in this region more of an infantry and city combat business, or were tanks heavily involved?
Would love to hear your thoughts—especially if anyone is familiar with Greek history! Feel free to add pics or comparisons too!.
