How does Gaijin decide which eurofighter gets a certain modifcation?

The AMK couldn’t have been offered to anyone because it is still in development but that development stage ends 2028 and the UK government said “The full scope of the P4E capability package has not yet been agreed” meaning its not confirmed or denied and it is not ordered or garunteed. The only thing that is set in stone is that the AMK is on the German Eurofighters, and the other countries will decide closer to 2028 when it should be coming out of development.

As for the IRST it was tested as far as I am aware but it was atleast on Germany’s own aircraft not on a foreign aircraft in a foreign country.

As you can clearly understand, these aircraft are very much up in the air. Therefore having the AMK for all three makes sense. I hope that logically, ECRS mk1 and mk2 are a different story.

The reason I want the 10 degrees for the German one is because if Britian and Italy gets something they cant have/dont have then Germany can get something they cant have/dont have

I don’t see written anywhere that Italy and UK can’t/won’t have the AMK kit. And finally, does Germany have the AMK as of now on their T4s? If not, then none of the aircraft should have this feature by your logic.

This argument basically makes no sense as the AMK is something cooperated on by 3 nations, while the ECRS mk1 is just for Germany (Spain) and the ECRS mk2 is just for Italy and the UK.

I’ll leave here since this clearly doesn’t go anywhere, as logic is out of the room.

“Raffaele Beltrame, the unflappable Italian, describes [this] as a ‘really intense period.’ Raffaele has recently completed flight-testing a package of aerodynamic upgrades that promises to enhance further the aircraft’s agility and weapons-carrying ability. The Aerodynamic Modification Kit* (AMK) is part of a wider Eurofighter Enhanced Manoeuvrability (EFEM) programme developed by Airbus Defence and Space that has the potential to help ensure the aircraft’s continuing superiority for many years to come.”

Because all three nations got their supposed future series aircraft, and not test airframes.

I really hope the AESAs come with AMK… so the 400,000 RP + spading grind is a liiiiittle more justified.

Idk if i’d go so far as calling them ‘bros’ given that most US mains would rather the AMRAAM wasn’t buffed because it wouldn’t favour only them

That’s the interesting part. There isn’t anything I can find that states Germany would get IRST for their future series aircraft.

Pretty sure the most recent display T4s have had PIRATE

That’s true as well, maybe It’s just an assumption

That was a mock up from what I remember

Still shows intent

Could it just be that the display T4s are using the prototype as a stand-in rather than it being a 100% representation?

Rafale F5 was “displayed” but ofc used an in-service aircraft even though it has been stated that the Rafale F5 would look visually different.

The first one is not even a german mock up, but a nationless one

No, that isn’t the case. A stand-in aircraft isn’t indicative that the aircraft will look exactly like it.

This is a T5, not a T4.

Gotcha

They can’t have them because they dont come out of development unil 2028 so they cant have them up until then and if they were to actually order them before that 2028 then Gaijin can give it to them but currently they havent decided on what they want out of the P4E programme yet as I said earlier.

Other than some foreign pilots testing it Germany funded it, airbus built it and German aircraft were used for it.

As far as I am aware it was fitted on the tranche 4

German mains have spent the past year complaining about it. Combine with the fact that IRST is becoming a standard for most at top tier. it probably just served at keeping it as equal as possible between the 3

Which one? Ipa7 is a T2 (also no T4 are in service currently)
