11 lost in row in arcane mode… all 3 cap to zero.
being one shot from tank on the move that i don’t even have time to aim
being kill in spawn by plane
can’t show the tiny pixel of you tank without dying
30 sec of gameplay and back to the garage
You play with a game pad, screw you, out of the 100 top players only ONE use game pad.
defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat,
defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, victory, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat,
only getting 10-50 RP per battle.
This game is the very definition of insanity
ok let me add: pathetic, ridiculous, stupid, broken, pos
I’ve given up. I play on a PS5 and this game is clearly not make for console. I can’t find anything to learn when you can’t even get out of spawn … ill just try to reach some tank id like to try then Bye! Bye! Warthunder. I’m just glad i haven’t spend any money on it. At least i would have learn that ;P
“I want to learn X principle of flying/dogfighting and become consistent at it.”
and
“I want to learn Y aircraft and become consistent at it.”
Key word: Consistent.
Not good. Being good is tenous, relative and depends on the lobby and aircraft. You can feel like ace of aces one lobby, learn your opponents only flew for some 30 hours each and then get your ego shoved into dark places next lobby by people who played for a few thousand.
If I start doing X technique/maneuver/follow X principle to a point it feels more consistent than before I decided to focus on it, I feel good about myself for improving.
Or if it feels like aircraft Y “clicked” and i’m no longer fighting the damn beast but working together.
It just take to long to aim on console to be competitive and last more than a min in battle. In tank battle at least. Planes is more friendly to console but still not good enough. My goal when playing a game is to have fun first and foremost. This game is not fun for new players. We are just wayyyyyy to behind.
maybe if Gaijin give us a “same device only” option ill give it another shot but for now.
P.S. 17 games 1 win, all steam roll. So ya it’s just NOT FUN.
A) Seal-clubbers (lvl 60-ish and higher playing low BR’s to increase their game stats)
B) Cheaters
C) People of high lvl starting a new TT
It’s a game, play for fun, learn, the biggest part of this entire game is learning and adapting to changing technology, as well as skills. I still wouldn’t consider myself a “great player” by stats (If it showed assisted kills I’d look like a god probably) but I’m lvl 100, played through 2 Air trees, 1 ground tree, and starting a new ground tree (USA) it took time to learn the game and its odd interface and mechanics, but with time and dedication, you can learn it pretty quickly, I didn’t start to pick up fully on it until I was around a Lvl 40 and bought my first premium and a bunch of other things in my timeline.
You can use mouse and keyboard on console, it makes life so much easier. If that’s a possibility, give it a try. If not, you can still do reasonably well on tanks with proper tactics and practice. Planes are actually much harder on controller than m+k (unless you play sim).
Unless you were here during beta testing it’s always been like that. Every high level player you meet was a newbie at some point. Back when I started playing I had exactly the same kind of experience. Now I’m not exactly a great player, but still manage to get a mostly positive KDR, with a 10-15 kill match once in a while. It’s just part of the difficulty curve. If you want a game with a very low skill floor, WT isn’t it.
You can turn off cross-platform gameplay on the Options menu, but the queues are quite longer and you’ll still be facing veteran players and people using m+k.
My guy, you have literal aim assist on the console for SPAAG’a. Also if you popping your turret over a depression, you’re not being pixel-killed.
Lower your graphics to ultra-low graphics. Gaijin tends to make hills artificially and taller graphically not hitbox-wise. So lower it if you want to see the actual hills.
More advice, do not over-extend yourself(this means do not push towards their spawn if no one else is near you. Since you will be immediately targeted as you are a lonesome tank).
One more thing, be more reliant on Binoculars. You do not need to constantly use it however using it will help a lot. One more final thing, If you are aware that an enemy plane is flying, stop moving. In a certain terrain that makes it more difficult for you to be spotted.
Our planes rely heavily on either flying low to the ground or seeing objects move. Without that, there is less chance of us noticing you. If also possible use the squad command to call out the plane(“Air alert”)
Darn! Someone should have told me 3000h ago…and here I am…playing with headset and controller!
And when do I get that aimbot everyone tells me console players get?
Don’t play alone - find a Squadron that you like and where people will support each other.
Have a laugh - it’s a game and it can be very, very frustrating, so don’t take yourself or the game too serious
Pause at certain BRs - Catch up with the rest of your TT at certain BRs and earn yourself some SLs that you will need when moving on
And last but not least, you are at a slight disadvantage on console. You can consider to connect a mouse and a keyboard to it and play that way.
Howver, the must have is a headset, because you need to listen to where an enemy sits or is coming from. You also need to make sure your keybinds are easy to use and you need to decide what to keybind and what not. A lot of the keybinds are useful for when you play Sim, but not needed in any of the other modes.
Also, see if you like Realistic Battles more, it puts everyone at the same disadvantage :)
Crazed Otter Guide to War Thunder Enjoyment - COGWUT for short.
Step 1 - Treat it as a game. It’s a game. Having fun is what matters.
Step 2 - If you find a BR /Nation / Mode you enjoy - stick with it. You don’t have to progress up trees to have fun.
Step 3 - Put Razervon and Mr Flogger on Ignore
Step 4 - Top tier is usually frustrating. That isn’t fun. Mid tiers are much more fun.
Step 5 - Squad up with friends and collectively suffer together…ahem…enjoy the game as a group.
Step 6 - If you feel like WT is becoming a grind, a job, and/or a drain - take a break. Play a different game, make some model kits, whatever recharges you.
Step 7 - If you see Crazed Otter in-game and he inadvertently crashes into you, or accidentally fires smoke rather than AP - view it as another source of entertainment. Honest.
You just need to see this as it is… VIDEO GAME.
You wont earn money, only spend.
You wont be famous from this
Your KD and everything means absolutely nothing.
Laugh at everything you read in chat and dont take it to the hart.
Expect nothing from random players.
When you do all of that you will have a fun, trust me.
Seal clubbing isn’t a thing. The vehicles are there to play. Being high level doesn’t mean you have to play top tier. I’m level 100 and still jump to lower BRs. Hell, even sometimes jump to bi planes just to enjoy the clusterfuck that those BRs bring… If you’re new, focus on learning mechanics and rhen eventually just focus on playing vehicles you enjoy amd the grind falls off into the background. Eventually you’ll learn the vehicle and the maps and get better. If you’re new and jump in expecting to be the best you’re doing things wrong.
