Pradesh is actually one of the best sniper maps but the last time I got them was 2 months ago lol I don’t know what they do to the 8.0-8.7 matchmaking to never see them again or very rarely, I could never get this map even if I marked it as favorite. Out of all the long-range maps I prefer the Maginot Line as it is the best of both worlds which allows me to use any tanks I want without having to worry about getting into a dominant position, slow tank? no problem, you can get into the city and cqc if that’s your tank advantage, mainly lotsa hill allows you to move sneak around and still get to flank an enemy. If you are in a Russian vehicle with no gun depression and bad reverse speed you can’t utilize the peek over the hill, shoot, and reverse back quicky strategy. Certain maps make a lot of vehicles especially the slow ones less ideal or viable.
I prefer mixed maps, maybe one or two big ones I like, I’ve been playing tues for years and I think that many maps in the game are poorly made and boring, that someone likes to stand for a few minutes on an empty map behind one stone, and his the enemy is doing the same what is the difference between standing like this and waiting for the enemy for a few minutes when the enemy is doing the same and standing on a small map and you and the enemy are looking at each other this is the same kind of gameplay only on the big maps you are driving longer in empty space, and shorter in small ones, it would be nice if gaijn had people who can make maps
it may be old but who cares, most people don’t enjoy learning every single stupid hill, and in open zones you have half the map to watch at once, hills don’t cover most sides so if you’re stuck for some time someone is going to flank you from 2 km away
WT would a much better, fairer, funner game if it had randomized dynamic terrain, so that each game was a unique map that didn’t have intentionally placed and “balanced” firing positions that look/feel like the terrain in a theme park. Even using random bits of the big air maps would work.
Yes, old hands who have the maps imprinted in their brains will hate this idea, but it would be massively levelling and realistic.
IRL troops rarely stay on one piece of terrain to become intimately familiar with it, either on the offense or defense.
Doesn’t make sense they took away several top tier maps and gave us this.
