How different is the T-80 and Abrams to the Leo 2?

Hello everyone, hjnbnb here and I was wondering about purchasing the Senrai Maidens packs, and was wondering how different the T-80 and Abrams are to Leo 2s, my only top tier experience is with Leo 2s and I would love to get my American tree up (I’m only at 6.7), and the same with Russia (My highest being 7.7).

On the other hand is there a possibility for there to be a British pack for this with a Chally 2? Chally 2s are my favourite MBTs of all time bar the Cent and I would love for a pack like that to come, since I really like the skins for the new pack vehicles, plus or minus the Anime pfps and stuff idrc

Leo2 is still one of the better mbts.

T80 has a low skill floor (easier for bad players to do okay)

Abrams has a high skill ceiling (skilled players can get more out of it)

You know about the T-80 buff in the leaks?

Oh wow it’s reload will be slightly less bad compared to nato tanks

I dont really care for leaks.

I heard of leaks that give a buff to its reload but even then, its mobility and reaction time isnt up to par.

yes, assuming they’ve spent 1m+ for expert and then 2800 for the ace crew and have their crew at level 150.

oh yeah, apparently not worth mentioning that it will out reload the average leopard now

The avarage Leo also has a better round and better mobility

with greater weakspots and the t80u isn’t lacking in mobility lol it’s not far behind. the t80u does lack the commanders independent thermal sight but those are rarely used (only night battles really) and the abrams lacks it as well I believe.

t80 is faster going forwards/accelerating (it can get to a position faster) , but worse reverse

m1a2’s have one but its gen 1 until SEP

Just go for the one you feel like personally, regardless of how they work.

Leo’s are close to the best tanks in game. moderate mobility, Good adaptability, moderate armor.

Abrams are good for skilled players. Good mobility, Great gun handling, Alright armor. high risk, high reward type.

T80’s are good for relaxing/normal play. Good armor, low profile, turn your brain off and press W.

Chally’s are alright. Got decent armor, low speed, and moderate handling. Need to play more smart with them to do good.

Might also want to consider the AIM, it has similar FCS as SEP like better thermals and 13x gunner zoom, while all 11.7s Abrams has terrible thermals and only 10x zoom

it also doesnt have commander sight, and has a much worse/unreliable round

Hmm. Do people actually use commander sight? It may scan the area faster because it doesn’t follow the turret movement but the fov still overall worse than binocular, also the view height isn’t much higher than the gunner sight so for me it’s rarely useful. I also ran out of keys to bind it so I have to go through binocular then commander sight.

Pros:

Leopard 2 has absurdly strong armor and the strongest sabot (second only to the Obj 292).

Abrams is fast, has fast reload, has fast turret traverse, and a proxy shell.

T-80 is as fast as Abrams, has great armor and good survivability, has small silhouette, has autoloader, and additional shell types (HE and ATGM)

Cons:

Leopard 2 is a bit slower than Abrams and T-80 (not by a large margin).

Abrams has bad armor and TERRIBLE survivability, big silhouette, very loud and very distinct engine sound, and is all around quite buggy.

T-80 has slow reverse (8 mph), 5° of gun depression, long reload, and a slow turret traverse (it’s not slow it’s just slower than others).

Spoiler

I’m not mentioning things like one less crewmate in T-80 cause that’s already baked in to survivability, or things like not being able to shoot backwards on Leo and Abrams cause it doesn’t make much difference.

In a vacuum, the Leopard 2 is easily the strongest with the T-80 close behind, and the Abrams in third only cause it can’t go lower.

The Abrams will be disabled or destroyed if shot by any sabot from almost any angle. The abhorrent modelling of the armor and internals mean you’re just one giant weak spot. The only advantage is speed.

The T-80 has pretty small weak spots, and they’re easy to hide. It’s also just a small tank in general, and it has large HE shells and ATGMs which are nice to have on hand. The real kicker though is that its mobility is near identical to the Abrams. If you recall, mobility is the only thing good on the Abrams.

I don’t think the Leo needs much explaining. Best sabot and best armor with a small mobility loss is a really great deal.

Warthunder, however, is not in a vacuum. The Abrams is backed by the strongest CAS in the game . . . or at least it used to be until planes like the Typhoon and Su-34 got added. Now America’s CAS is average, and has the worst SPAA outta almost any nation. The AH-64E is also kinda doodoo.

Germany and Russia are both back by strong SPAA and strong CAS. Germany has the better SPAA, and Russia has the better planes and helis.

I tend to like it, because its a higher FOV thermals for if you need them

and its mounted very high so you are mostly hidden while being able to scan

this is an m1a1 hc

dude the leopard has just as big as weakspots as the abrams if not bigger lmao, literally anything can pen the hull it’s only protected on the cheeks like the abrams, and unlike the abrams you cannot bring more than 16 rounds or you’ll have a kill me here spot literally anything with apfsds can ding.

?? 2A7 is hard locked to 61 kmh. T-80 is 70kmh, and now will outperform in everything except pen and rear reverse

So what you’re saying is I’ll love the T-80

I find my Leos to have kinda trash armour personally, I just go by the “don’t get hit” rule lol

I’m guessing ATGM kinda worthless though am I right? I’ll be using 3BM46 mostly

I play Britain, 8 MPH is a good reverse speed

Thanks for your help everyone
