yea, the usa is not in a good position with current weaponry. Dont worry though the other side will have dominance for a year or two, then they add usa equivalent and usa gets dominance for 6 to 9 months then back to the other side for two years.

if its game theory, i’d say there’s no solution to win a 1v1 fight against su30sm2, if both play optimally (its even clearer if u re a f15e)
then how to play optimally as a su30sm2? that easy just keep notching and shoot ur msl like a battleship at least u wont die

You can notch his missiles the same way he notches yours
but he can hard lock an R27ER in the notch which iirc is harder to notch than an ARH

The only reason the r27er is harder to notch is because it can be relocked and an ARH won’t unless it detects you again itself. That’s it. It’s one thing to lose the matchup because you’re in a worse jet, but OP implies he is simply dying because of a failure to notch, which means he would also fail to notch any other missile from any other jet.

The difference is extremely minor. It’s a skill issue. As I said, the difficulty in notching r27er comes from the plane being able to re-lock you if you leave the notch, not because it’s “so much harder” to notch a plane’s radar. Do you need to be told again?
but the Su-30SM2 only has to turn to notch once, it can guide from the notch while the F-15 has to turn into oncoming missiles to return fire. how can you win without the other guy being an idiot?

I suggest you read before I stop replying.
The R-27ER, R-27R and maybe the AIM-7P too, are all harder to evade than fox3s in a notch. There’s more to play than the notch angles, since they all have IOG but these SARHs can also reacquire if you manage to relock, plus if you are still inside the radar illuminator cone, you are often cooked.
With Fox3s when they lose track at short range to chaff and you evade their IOG path, you are safe

I still cant believe they added the SM2. At this point I mean how is this not Russian bias. I actually thought the SM2 was a joke when I saw it in the dev server, because I thought no way they are basically just adding a Su-35S with no competition.
Su-35, but better in case of CMs and RWR. But a bit worse FM and no maws…
