How am i supposed to play boxer mgs in urban maps?

the tank is made for sniping
small city maps makes it hard to get kills unless the enemy is a clueless retard
the turret is on the back of the tank trying to move without dying is hard because you got a horrible turret’s position leaving your belly vulnerable for enemies to shoot while moving

im not complaining about the boxer being bad or anything im just asking how to use it in maps that its not made for
its amazing in open maps

Spoiler

i died in this image after i tried to go to the point to get more ammo XD

You don’t. It’s why we get up to 10 crews. Not being facetious, just add more vehicles at the same BR to switch to in case of a bad map roll.

Boxers aren’t good vehicles in the first place. The reason is easy to grasp: They’re simply to big for this game. Most maps are made for smaller vehicles. Boxers are huge and have a high profile. Its very hard to hide. Also most cover isn’t made for them… they always stick out and get shot.

On open maps the same. Vehicles with flat profiles merge better with terrain features. Behind slopes, rocks etc… Boxers can’t do that very well. Ambush vehicles which are that easy to spot won’t work.

It doesn’t matter if city map or not. Avoid to play the busses. Play Wiesel.

i find it fun to play boxer in big maps

I mean, there are worse vehicles. Boxers can and do work, it’s just situational.

Indeed. But others work better. I just recommend the TT Wiesel with TOW. Since it got the additional ammobox to restock in the field, its just great. Also BMPs always had been better. Flat and / or small, that opens alot opportunities.

Yeah, the Wiesel is very fun, and now with the ammo boxes you can bring two types, Type B and A, because you can restock. Now only if they would fix the 2B the Wiesel would be absolutely great.
Currently they do not work as intentded.

I use mostly A and just 2 B’s for special cases (if someone hides behind a rock). Tow 2a is fine, you kill what you hit…usually.

Going to bump this topic since I’ve finally gotten around to playing Boxer during this latest event. I’m having the opposite experience - my best maps are on the few urban maps that it sees, while I’d just rather use Vilkas or something else on long-range snipe maps. For example, a game from last night:

It seems that people underestimate your reload speed on these urban maps, so if you position yourself off to the side a little and pop an enemy, they’ll think they have time to take you down but by the time they get there you’ve already reloaded and are ready to take them down.

Otherwise, yeah, I agree with some of the other posters. I don’t really think it’s a bad vehicle, but you go through a rubbish stock grind with HEAT-FS, and then you face swarms of MBTs every game that can do what you do but with slightly less mobility. I have a negative KDR in it so far, 55 deaths, 52 ground kills, 2 air kills. I could play it more passively, but I feel like that would take the joy out of it. Just rolling around the battlefield using that mobility and hoping the ‘no armor is the best armor’ gods are shining down on me.
