This really makes a difference for me. I could see better performance that way instead of manually adjusting things in game.
oh well, it has always been that way to a degree. Gaijin has always done a good job “optimizing” the game so it can be played on a wide variety of systems. Giving more players a chance to enjoy the game.
Albeit, that has also been a point of contention for many players with the ULQ thing in ground battles and all that sorta thing.
I have always tried to make the game look as good as possible and still be able to see stuff well enough to play/compete . . . it is a balancing thing for each player.
I would suggest that you try not to worry about what others are doing too much, I mean you have no control, so why worry about it, yeah?

Graphic settings or sound settings should not give you big advantage in any competitive game, but we in 2025 have: disableable grass, disableable ground top layer, effects of explosions and smokes could be tune down to almost nonexistent state, sound of your own engine could be lowered and other players increased(instead of just one on volume of effects setting). This is inappropriate for completive multiplayer game.
This is how I always play. I don’t like playing on ULQ/Low settings since I feel like cheating when having a High FPS, easy spotting, and quick reaction. Yes, we can perform a lot better at low settings due to this. But, I love playing the game at its highest quality cinematic view even though it hides my enemies easier and miss targets easier, decreasing my performance.
You are not punished, its just a trade off that we all know many games have. Low settings for better player performance vs Highest Quality for not so great player performance but an awesome view. Just tweak it to where you’re particle density doesn’t annoy you or just learn to deal with it.

As always, I was proven right. They removed particle density and maxed it by default for everyone. People shall just accept my wisdom and stop fighting against my ideas.

I think it was removed and is now part of the effects quality setting.
LOL. No one is forcing you to use those settings. Holy crap what a whine-fest.
Honestly: grass, particles, effects, etc… should only affect the QUALITY, and NOT the QUANTITY.
Low and high settings should only determine how pretty these things look… not whether they disappear or cover your whole screen.
You shouldn’t be forced to dial these settings down just not to be in a disadvantage compared to those who do. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice visual fidelity and quality for gameplay purposes.
I bet my ass suddenly the amount of people with “bad PCs” would decrease dramatically and more people would start using higher settings.

My brother, this thing is settled. Everyone has same particle density settings fixed now. L2R beyond the title.
Honestly, nothing can be that perfect when the game is played by millions of people all on different devices. Just play the game for enjoyment on high graphics, it makes it so much better.
Bruh, it is over. They equalized particle density/fire effects for everyone.
