Wait until you learn that the way “F2P” models are designed is so that you are heavily incentivised to spend money to make progress and the low gains are part of the design. It’s going to rock your world.

30,000 RP per hour free to play? That’s really good, as good as <2021 air RB.
That’s assuming consistent 10 kills. 6k should be the amount of RP earned in a normal match.

5150 (total) - 2575 (skill bonus 9 kills) - 1368 (win reward) = 1207 “total”( losing has some reward too )
With 2 kills and losing you are doing ~7300 pts per hour. To unlock that m26 (42k pts needed ) he will need 5 hs (doing 8k pts/h). BEAUTIFUL !
No, it isn’t required. You can still unlock all the tech trees for free.
The game is insufferable without premium time. If you want to enjoy playing this game above rank 3, you have to have it at this point

Still GRB rewards are much lower than ARB for no reason. This makes even less sense when you consider you need more than one vehicle to play GRB efficiently, at least ideally.
Here is an example that shows the difference really well.
Premium account, premium vehicles, both matches won. I even died in the ARB match before it ended.
Also notice how without skill bonus the difference would only be ~1K RP. Is Gaijin really trying to tell me that a 6 minute match with 2 kills in air is the same as a 8 minute match with 9 kills in ground?

lol. yeah the possibility is there but everyone knows that no one has the time and sanity to subject themselves to a full f2p grind to the top tier as a new player in multiple trees. Its highly disingenuous to say that its not required, especially for new players.

Maybe if you’re an old guard and gradually kept on top of everything over the past decade+.
I genuinely struggle to imagine how anyone starting today could achieve it. Not only having to get everything we have, but also keep ontop of the 30-40 stuff added every update. Would literally require no-lifing the game for tens of thousands of hours.
Even people who do buy premium features spend weeks / months grinding a single tree.

No, you can’t, not in reality.
Good point but I will add this, the longer the ARB match is - the wider the gap will be.
ARB will give activity reward for simply staying around, if you strike an AI ground target every once in a while you will be counted as active.
This is why I can fairly regularly net 20 to 30k RP in air RB and struggle to get more than 12k RP in ground, w/premium account.
GRB simply doesn’t reward your time if you decide to stay in the match the full duration
