The Sea Harrier FA2 and AV8B+ have that BR because of AIM-9M and AIM-120.
I can’t speak for the FA2 but the AV8B+ is a beast in close range dogfighting. VTOL allows for hilarious plays. Only con is that others can outrun/choose not to fight you.
you know the AV8b+ is a harrier 2 and the FA2 is a sea harrier 1 airframe right? not a fair comparison at all
AV8B+ can also carry 2 9m and 4 aamraam when the FA2 can only carry 4 aamraam while sacrificing its guns so AV8B+ has better armaments, flight performance and CAS loadouts while being same BR.
although its getting a significant buff this update the harrier 1 airframe cant beat a harrier 2 in dogfighting at all.
I agree the AV8B+ is superior to the FA2 but my point still stands
These aircraft can’t reasonably go lower in BR due to their armament.
AIM-7Ps when you’re always locked onto the target will perform the same.
It’s only when lost-lock will IOG kick in, and buddy-locking isn’t a thing for datalink.
F-18C would be the top of the BR range regardless of what it specifically is, cause as much as people may argue that the difference between the “worst” 14.0 [Su-30SM] and the “best” 14.0 [Typhoon] is notable, the reality is that there are trade-offs on both platforms that make them more equal than F-15A and and Su-27 and Mirage 4000.
the problem is what above them isnt high enough. can we agree that the 8B+ and FA2 being the same BR is an odd choice as well? FA2 has more CM but BOL isn’t that effective and that’s its only advantage
any jet with arh missles should be at least at 13.0 and this should continue as long as we dont get br decommpression
fair enough. the idea of aamraam facing an A10C is very unfair. a reshuffle of aircraft BR and raising top tier to 16.0 is a step in the right direction.
Absolutely, they shouldn’t be the same BR at all.
The issue is compression, the current 14.0 should really be 15.0 or higher IMO but Gaijin is very conservative when it comes to lifting this ceiling, always behind the curve.

sadly most br stuff cant be fixed until br is compressed correctly, like FA2 and B+ cant be in different br as of now, just like a lot of other jets.
Gajin pls decompress br to 15.0 or even higher and fix the british phantoms [aim9l lower br (even if aim9l is added) and remove skyflash from FG1]
persnally i think the f18A with 4 aim7m and 2 aim9L or 6 aim9L and 2 aim7m, would be fine at 12.7, I also think that the prem f18c would be fine at 13.0, if (almost) all the 13.7 and 14.0 got put up one step
Top tier would be much better off with even 1.3 spread of amraam slingers instead of the curreny 1.0 spread
first of all fox3 slingers shouldnt be able to get into br with jets that lack arh missles

It should definitely get moved up, 12.3 is insanely low for that flight model… I pray Gaijin or the community managers push this up to the dev team because wow that is some insane hand holding that no other nation gets for ARB
You are absolutely delusional if you think that the Mirage 2K are “better than the Hornet in almost every way”
The only advantage they have are the Magic 2 and the top speed (roughly 200 extra km/h that you bleed instantly when you turn because you’re in a delta)
The 2000C-S4 at 12.3 has half the amount of countermeasures, half the amount of SARH, a worse radar (can’t track a target going cold, it only has HDN modes), a worse SARH missile (slower and can’t track a target going cold so you can’t switch uto SRC to guide it), which makes it a lot worse at BVR.
With the Hornet’s extra maneuvrability (due to the AoA limiter switch) and the much better gun, i’d wager it could body a Mirage 2000C in a dogfight

Even with the AOA switch, the Mirage likely has better maneuverability. The Mirage is faster, has a better flight model (AOA limiter doesn’t save the Hornet), the Hornet has more missiles, but their SARH missiles are roughly equivalent to each other and the Magic 2s are straight upgrades to the 9Ls.
Sure the Hornet has more missiles, more countermeasures, and a better radar, but BVR still sucks at that BR regardless so not much of a loss. Most uses of the SARH missiles will be in head-ons anyways, considering you have the Magic 2s for when you get behind someone.
ok so, you are telling me that the f18 will be at 12.3. the same br as the F-20 and slightly above the F-4S, gaijin really cannot cook brs holy shit
