Hornet 12.3 and 12.7 How can 2 planes that should be at 13.0 be so low?

that seems a little drastic, i wonder how it stacks up to the mirage 2000 c-s5 at 12.7.

The M2KC is considerably faster and has much better IR missiles. The Hornet A has more SARH and is at least evenly matched in 1C and 2C. They have similar radar quality.

The Hornet carries significantly more strike ordnance, but most of it is dumb rockets/bombs.

the total number of missiles that a mirage carries is 4 (2fox1 and 2fox2), only from SAHR the f18 carries 6 aim7M, the same missile that the f15 uses, but the f18 has a lower BR than the mirage which is 12.7

the f4s, mig23ml and mirage f1C will handle 6x aim7M super well rsrs

You want a plane armed with AIM-7F to be dragged into the 14.0 black hole to constantly face AMRAAM, R-77-1 MICA and other Fox-3s spam from Eurofighters, Rafales and SU-30s? Really?

the su 33 faces, why the hornet should have a different treatment?
f15A, J11, Su27, Mig29G, Mirage 4000, gripen A, f16A (benalux) … all these aircraft face

If you think AIM-7F is ANYWHERE remotely comparable to R-27ER in a single way, I don’t know what to tell you.

That’s leaving completely aside the fact that SU-33 is 400 km/h faster than F/A-18A as well.

You edited it in later- but the “excuse” would be, again- F-15A is 600 km/h faster than F/A-18A, MiG-29G has, again, R-27ER-1 and is, again, 500 km/h faster, and… same for everything.

I think you underestimate how extremely SLOW F/A-18A is. I don’t blame you, I did too at first. Until I actually tested it.

It accelerates slow, it climbs slow, it can barely even reach Mach 1 with full missile loadout… this plane has no business facing SU-30s, Eurofighters, Rafales and their Fox-3 spam while armed with 4x 7Fs and being virtually subsonic.

Ohhhh hooooo! I can’t wait to see F/A-18A goes down even further to 12.0 while F-104S/ASA and F-4J(UK) hit 12.3.
(If Gaijin just keeps using nothing but player stat only for balancing)

Everyone might be happy if Gaijin decided to decompress the BR, not just buffing Hornet’s BR instead.

At the time, F/A-18A is also limited to AIM-9L, while F-15A has AIM-9M.

If F/A-18A had AIM-9M as OP suggests, it would be fine at 12.7- but not 13.0.

I also tested it on dev sever, Several viable solutions could be suggested, such as more decompression and up tier being limited to 0.7 or even 0.3 instead of an entire br.

Which is what we have been doing in a daily basis for years in vain.

Think trying to suggest it once again would change anything?

I did, and I insist- AIM-9M does not justify them facing the wrath of Fox-3 spam from Eurofighters, Rafales and SU-30s.

Even with AIM-9M, F/A-18A would still be worse than F-15A. So it should be 12.7 then, but not 13.0.

I thought this was about the A, which only carries 4 SARH now. If we’re talking about the C early then yeah.

The F-18A should never have AIM-9Ms. It’s supposed to be an introduction, not a top of the line.
Either way F-18A should be 12.7 where almost all of its equals are.

Win rates are not how vehicles are balanced.

Well atp it is worse than the premium C due to not getting Aim-7p’s and having 2 less pylons for IR missiles.
(This next thing is not related to what you said btw)

This is not a thing based on US skill or win rates. It is happening becuase we need decompression it is beyond horrible atp. We need 15.0-16.0 minimum for both tanks and air.
